If you've ever flown then you can sort of figure out what the air lines are looking for in flight attendants. Though they will NEVER admit it, they would prefer younger people over older, single over married, and more attractive (looks good in their uniform) over less attractive, fitter over less fit, etc. Add to that, a pleasing personality, good communication skills, some poise, manners, and that eagerness to do a good job and you're off to a GREAT start!
Here is a generalized link to some information on flight attendant training, training they want to charge you for:
http://www.airlineinflight.com/index.htm
BE CAREFUL about these sites that practically guarantee you a job once you complete their training. AGAIN, if you are an awesome candidate then the airlines should be willing to hire you as a raw applicant and train you. I would STRONGLY encourage you to visit all the websites for all the major airlines, looking for job postings.
Here for example is a link to Continental's flight attendant training:

Hope this helps.

The flight attendants usually hire NOW! I would look up the airlines on line and look in careers or employment. As for the cruise ships they hire around this time too. Hope you have sea legs. You have to find out the names of the ships. Or you can look up where they port and check out those sites and see if you see a ship. Some might have a camera set up so you could see different ships coming and going. Right down the names of the ships so you can look it up. If all else fails go to the ports where the ships come in and ask. Go to the airlines and ask for who would you speak to regarding employment. Hope this helps.

Good Looks - being in half decent health and shape won't hurt get you anywhere in that field - And being able to deal with all walks of people -
Start applying hit air lines that appeal and ask to apply usually the interview process is a long one - (they used to interview a lot at a time and weed out people they don't want)
(speak in front of people and see how you present yourself and take a small simple skilled test)
it always helps to be educated - and have done well in school and speak more then one language.
Good Luck

Apply directly at the airline website. Just know some airlines do require you to go thru the training w/ out pay until you finish which is about 5wks. But in the end it is well worth your hard work and believe me there is alot more to it than you think! Good luck!

enter into the official sites of the airlines where you want to apply. There they have an icon which says CAREERS enter there and you will find the information you need.
The same with cruise lines.
It is difficult but not impossible. Good luck.

Applying to the airlines and cruise lines would be a good start. Check their websites and see what they say about employment opportunities.
