A misdemeanor IS a crime. I have no clue if it is a FELONY or a misdemeanor.

Crime is crime. In California a Misdemeanor is a level of a crime.

There are levels, like infractions, misdemeanors and felonies.

I assume Canada runs on the same system.

First of all, in Canada, we don't use the term misdemeanor or felony. The sale of alcohol would be under the Provincial jurisdiction and therefore a provincial offence (like a speeding ticket). Also, permits, etc, would be a town or city by-law or licencing issue. Unless it's a CRIMINAL offence (which this obviously sounds like it is not) then this would have NO impact on you travelling to the US.

Not sure about Canada but around here it's not a crime if the proper permits are obtained. Otherwise it's a misd and a ton of other violations that will result in hefty fines payable to the state.
