I believe they are two seperate entities, for example:You might just as well ask are your PC and Windows two separate entities. That goes for any other operating system as well. A PC can do nothing without an operating system or program of some kind and a piece of software can do nothing without a computer on which to run. Are they the same entity or separate

I see some evolutionists have given their two cents worth, and it makes sense they would say they are one in the same.

Well... I do not buy that philosophy, or I think we could achieve what was in the story of Frankenstein.

I believe very much... that the mind is very much a part of our spirit and/or soul. Our brains are designed much like a computer. Our minds are conscious and aware. That is why we can be "brain dead"...probably a more appropriate term for it: mind dead. Because the brain is still functioning, but the person..is gone.

The notion of a separate nonphysical mind was effectively buried completely by Gilbert Ryle in "The Concept of Mind".

The two main "nails in the coffin":

- How could a nonphysical "mind" interact with a physical body/brain?

- The nonphysical mind does not explain anything. It's simply a cop-out (akin to creationism, in fact), in saying "we don't understand how physical matter can have experiences, so we'll say that there's some separate nonphysical thing that has the experiences". Which task would you rather be assigned - to explain how matter and energy can have consciousness, or to explain how some unknown nonphysical "stuff" whose properties we not only don't know, but we can't investigate them can have consciousness?

Dualism is dead, at least in serious philosophy of mind. The "mind" is just brain activity.

I think they are the same. Sadly though the vast majority of people choose not to use either as they were designed.

brain is the hardware, mind is entangled with this hardware , they are different in my opinion but you can not see the second without the first. It is more like light and color, than PC and OS.
