Not having anyone else tell you how your own soul relates to the Divine in all things. Figuring stuff out on your own. Being restricted by noone, their ideas, or any dogmatic doctrine from a third-hand source. Spiritual freedom is what thinking people do.

It's basically an extension of the religious freedom guaranteed by the First Amendment. We have the right to follow our own path to enlightenment, or not, if we choose.

However, this is not the same as moral freedom in the sense of being allowed to do whatever you want. We need laws which protect us from our fellow man (and woman). We need laws against violence, fraud, coercion, and the like.

Basically, spiritual freedom goes on inside you, and is more-or-less absolute. (I will admit I can't say absolute because I have not examined the edges of the lunatic fringe here.) But moral freedom ends where your neighbor's rights begin. Where conflicts arise, we need the system of justice that allows us to resolve them without resort to such nonsense as dueling or intimidation.

Know truth makes you free of believe lies:

By "comparing spiritual things with spiritual",
is as comparing ordinances(laws) with grace.

Law is good, but it's "both good and evil".
Grace is also good, but it's never ever evil.

Law is holy, but it's also un-holy(high-minded).
Grace is also holy, but it's never ever un-holy.

Law is spiritual, but it's spiritual abuse: abusive.
Grace is also spiritual, but it's never ever abuse.

Grace neither tempts(laws) nor can be tempted(lawed).
Grace cannot lie(law) nor die(law). Law Law does both.

The grace(only) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
