Sufficient "Bicycle cars", smooth ride, minimal loud noise from passengers... Oh you'll also allow train frequency, good.

I take CalTrain (30 minute ride) daily and ACE (2.5 hour ride) monthly. The Bombarier bi-level cars are just terrifically comfortable, and Caltrains older cars are fine. They have great seats, sufficient hand-rails, and are very clean. ACE and CalTrain both have WiFi

Both routes are VERY good on their schedule, cost (monthly pass), and timeliness. Though the ACE (Altamont Commuter Express) uses Union Pacific freight tracks that could stand some work to level and smooth the ride. CalTrain is almost ALL on concrete ties with welded rail... smooth as glass !!

I WOULD like to see signs at the stations that give a countdown to arrival (CALTRAIN is working on it), and a more frequent schedule (we need more riders to make it cost-worthy).

02. No coal stoves falling over to set downwind portion of train ablaze.
03. Customers can purchase First, Second, and Third Class
passage arrangements.

Handrails to prevent falling into someone standing or seated.

Low noise levels, and the conductors who will request that loud passengers take their loud conversations elsewhere, even without other passengers' requests.

Signs and announcements to stations.

1: More space if it was crowded
2: Next station displays
3: No Ticket inspectors (perhaps gates at the stations instead)
