Well, the robots are already there... and the cartoon characters are usually the ones preaching...

Cartoon characters don't really exist, so they're not really relevant. Robots, on the other hand...well, I'd say that there's no real reason for it to be made illegal for robots to go to church, except possibly for certain very dangerous robots, and I think for the most part each church's staff would just decide for themselves whether or not they wanted to allow robots in. I'm sure many fundamentalists would be against it as an abomination and 'unnatural' (sort of like they do with homosexuality), while more liberal churches would at least let in assistant robots to help elderly and/or disabled people and some of them would probably let almost any sufficiently small and safe sentient robot in in the hopes of getting another convert.

Heehee. I don't know what makes me laugh more, your (genuinely) funny question or the complete inability of some posters to be able to get into the spirit of it!!!!
Robots and Cartoon characters fine, I draw the line at extra dimesional flying squid though.

Freedom of religious expression is a fundamental element in the bill of rights.
Also, per head of population, robots and cartoon characters are more prone to violence than any sexually deviant behaviour.
They might fight like drunks, but at least the rest of the time they're keeping it in their pants.

I love that there are so many funny people in this forum. Most aren't being sacrilegious...just showing humor, and that's a good thing. Also, I think they identify with the cartoon characters and are used to laughter. So, stay loose, people!

Not sure that either would have any real business there. Both are creations of men. So even if robots had free will, should they worship their direct creator man? Or should they worship the Creator of the elements they were constructed of?

Robots, yes. Cartoon characters, no. When fictitious characters start worshiping other fictitious characters, it can cause tiny tears in the space-time continuum. However, robots fit in nicely with the other sheep.
