My team would be owned by Jeff Gordon giving me Hendricks Power. 1st team would be sponsored by "Old English 800". 2 wide will cause a pit for bullet wounds by a Glock. And my 2nd Team would be driven by Danica Patrick sponsored by "Midol/Tampax". She would be a ***** to pass at least once a month on the track.! Girl Power!!!!
Jokes aside, those would be my teams.

I would drive for Dodge, I would have Skoal as a sponser, bring back the old style of racing. Get those kind of people on the team that helped start NASCAR.

First the tracks:
Every track would get ONE date. Period. Move into Canada, say Mosport. That way we get another roadcourse. Smaller tracks could get dates, like Kentucky & Nashville.

The Cars:
Templates go in the trash.
Stock bodies from the center of the bumper up. Air dams & side skirts from there down (to very rigid specs). Wing (yes, I said WING) must be available on street version.
Street versions must also be V8, rear drive, factory has to build at least 5000 for the street.
If the factory wants a slicker body, build it for the street.
Engines limited to 425ci, except on ovals over 1.5 miles. These go to 305ci to eliminate need for restrictor plates.

Owners/Drivers: Teams limited to TWO cars & drivers. Get rid of the Superteams.

Other Series: Drivers may not compete in lesser series with the same basic car on the same track for "practice" purposes.

The Cup field should be 45 instead of 43.

The Cup schedule should have two races at Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, Bristol, Richmond, Texas, Martinsville, Darlington, Atlanta, Texas, and Homestead-Miami.

Races will be held at Mexico, Kentucky, Nashville, St. Louis, and the return of Rockingham(NC).

Busch Series will no longer have Cup drivers racing in that series.

Busch Series will race at tracks like Hickory, South Boston, and Myrtle Beach.

If I could start my own NASCAR?
Well if i could I would have a short track series.
No track larger than 1 mile. And would use "crate" engines(the sanctioning body owns and distributes to teams on race day).
But if I were to start my own team.
I'd go Chevrolet. As for sponsors that would be the intresting part, but I'd look in to a region(vacation and travel type sponsor) to promote their seasoned specials. The team would be mine so I would controll it and not be responsible to anyone but myself.
Driving would be intresting but I'd go for someone in the truck-Busch or Arca series to be my driver.

Id fix the Sceduale. Certain tracks dont deserve 2 races but get them due to location. (Pocono, Loudon, Fontana)

The only tracks that get 2 races will be, Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville, Charlatte, Atlanta and Darlington (they would need to put in some seat though) The classic spots.
We would gain 8 more races this way. Add 1 road couse. The one in Mexico or Canada. 7 to go. Go back to Rockingham. 6 to go. Nazarath(Busch race in PA) 5 to go. Milwakee Mile 4 to go. Nashville 3 to go. Gateway (its a Busch track in St. Louis) 2 to go. Add the other road course. 1 to go. Go to the Track in WilksBarre they use to go their Done.

Now remodel the chase sheduale.
1-Loudon (Mile Track)
2-Bristol Night Race (Short Track)
3-Darlington (Whatever Darlington is)
4-Fontana (2 mile Track)
5-Las Vegas (the 1.5 mile track)
6-Talladega (Superspeedway)
7-Road Course, either Fontana or Mex
8-Martinsville (Different Type of Short Track)
9-Atlanta (Quad-Oval)
10-Homestead Miami

This would test a drivers ability at every type to track, it gives us a true champion.

I like the 4 Car limit.

Id Retire the Number 3

Have the Busch Car and the Cup car be different. (so you cant get a feel for the track)

It wouldn't be anything close to Nascar. Everyone would have to work for their wins. Like in the old days.
