Well, America could come out of the dark ages and start punishing those people who employ illegal aliens, keep illegal aliens out of the public schools, and make it more difficult for them to find housing if you want to stop the drain. They could also refuse non-emergency medical care to non-citizens like the rest of the world. Then, once they have the illegal immigration figured out, they can follow the rest of the industrialized world's lead and create a universal healthcare system like they have in Germany, Sweden, and almost anywhere else in Europe.

The middle class is worried that they won't recive top healthcare, but I've recieved better health care from German doctors in Germany than I ever did when I was living in America, yet everyone in Germany is allowed healthcare, even the poor. The only reason Canada supposedly has these issues with good doctors moving away is because the US will pay them more and let them bleed their patients or the insurance co.'s of the patient dry. If USA goes universal for legal citizens, then we don't have the problem of losing good doctors to Canada or vice versa. Sure there are higher taxes, but does that really matter when it comes down to it? I mean, we all have had or will have tough times and have had/will have issues paying for a prescription at one point, why not pay the extra so if something happens and you are out of work you will at least not have to worry about your child's health.

But, I say again, first America needs to get its act together when it comes to illegal immigrants. I don't care if they are from Europe, South America, Asia, etc... if they are illegal I want them out or to work their butts off to get a visa while waiting for their immigration papers to go through. Its a matter of respect. You don't respect the US enough to even get a work visa or a green card then you don't belong there.

I have some inside knowledge from working at a health dept. There are hospital trusts that when you are poor, they can cover the cost of the hospital bill. They do not require you to be an american citizen , but they do require a proof of income or financial status to apply. Illegals probably cant buy insurance for this SIMPLE REASON. The Stupid govt is allowing the insurance companies to request your social security number as part of the application process.. If its your check they want.. ( your money) what difference does it make what your social security number is.. its like buying buns at the bakery. Its a product being sold. Insurers could just assign a member number or something you dont have to have a ss to pay for health insurance, you just have to be healthy to get it. And have money to buy it. The auto insurance companies also have a big diversity. The States require you carry insurance by law.. you have to have it. But the insurance companies require your social security number and whether you are credit worthy. This is ridiculous! you have to have auto insurance and it doesnt matter if you filed bank ruptcy or not, theres no law that you cant own a car no matter what your financial status is. All states should strike down the qualifier for auto insurers to require a social security number or be credit worthy. They have so many potential payment plans it really doesnt matter. if you dont pay your policy cancels anyway.. . so who cares what your credit status is.. theyre never gonna give you anything you dont keep paying for..

Dude, illegals have no business having kids in ANY other country but home. They do it specifically because the CANNOT pay for them. US is dumb enough to not only foot the bill, but anchor that kid with Citizenship.

This is the practice that needs to stop. It's deliberate on the part of the Mexicans, they've been scamming America for a hundred years!

I pay for my health insurance and if businesses would stop hiring illegals and paid higher wages to the legal citizens they could afford to pay for there's. We also need to put a stop to the HMO's charging 155% more so they rich and the poor get sicker. It all comes down to the restructuring of our government. Get rid of Bush's cronies so when he's gone we can get some things done about this.

So add the increased numbers of illegal aliens......and the increased costs in healthcare...we are probably up to a $2B number by now easily.

They do pay for things, out of pocket. The health services that they do get I think they deserve. They are no drain on our society, they are the foundation upon which it stands. The reason most of them would even need health care is because of the back-breaking work they do.

They are modern day slaves, the least we can do is allow them to be healthy.
