I've found drinking several glasses of water a day to be better than taking vitamin C or store-bought formulas in warding off colds, flus and other infections and viruses. What have others found?

The popular, but WRONG answer is 8 glasses (or more) a day. Actually, you have a finely tuned mechanism that will tell you how much water to drink -- drink when you're thirsty! PERIOD. This has worked for countless generations over thousands of years and it still works today. More details on the 8 glasses myth is on my 360 page.

The standard answer is eight 8 oz. glasses a day. The real answer is that, although it is possible to drink too much water, if you get into a water drinking contest or something, in general the more water you drink the better, especially if the body is under some kind of stress: heat, etc.

Yes, water keeps the body and skin hydrated and also helps to flush out impurities and toxins. I know the usual suggestion is to drink 8 8oz glasses a day, but I've been told by a nutritionist that taking your weight and dividing it by two is the ideal amount of water to drink every day. She also said it's best if the water is room temperature, which is okay, but personally prefer it cooler.

The best way to ward off colds is to eat oranges because they have tons of vitamin C in them and their better for you than a pill. For water I'd say around 2 liters a day

Drink 8-9 glasses of water a day. It keeps you feeling fresh during the day, and water removes some waste from your body.

The standard is 8 8oz. glasses of water, or 64 ounces. But I have heard a lot of people lately that are saying to try to drink half of your body weight (so if you are 140 pounds, then 70 ounces). That has been my goal lately and it is working really well for me.

You should be drinking 8 eight-ounce glasses of water daily. It does help the immune system because it flushes the body out.

I find that it also makes one regular and the skin is not as dry
Dr told me to drink 10 cups a day =so that makes 1 and 1/2 guarts =sometimes it's hard to get it all down ,so I use crystal lite to give it a bit of flavor
not too hard to take on a hot day either
