I can't standing eating with my dad, every time he's done, he has to start sucking his teeth!! It drives me mad!! I just gave up trying to get used to it, so I always eat in a different room. But I'm serious, sometimes I'm in my room and I can hear him doing it all the way in the living room!! I just want to go down there and scream in his face "Ahhh". I wouldn't do that though, lol, I respect him. But jeez, here's an idea, brush your teeth. I just want to know if there's anyone who has to put up with this kind of situation, what do you do?

o hun i feel for you my mom does that. it sucks i know my family kind of just makes jokes out of it because well thats just the way we are but it still drives me crazy. i use my ipod in the other room so that i don't have to hear it and from time to time i ask her to please stop. as a family member if you ask nicely your dad should understand. good luck sweetheart

I grew up in a house where my Father smacked his food & lips. He also slurped. And it was very loud. My mother would scream at him and tell him to eat with his mouth shut. But it seemed it only took effect for maybe two bites and he was slurping and smaking again. He never did learn to eat with his mouth shut. It is really bad to have a freind over at meal time.

My mom does this too. I just ignore it. When I have something caught in my teeth I excuse myself from the table and either get a toothpick or go floss.
