a vet would know what is going on a lot better than someone sitting at a computer desk who has never seen your guinea pigs. It could be that they arent used to the hanging drink containers, depending on what they had at th pet store. you could try to have them just lick water or some food from your finger, it would be much, but it would be something at least. I have rats who also wouldnt eat when i first got them. My mom had homemade vegitable soup that day, and i put a little on my finger and they loved it! anyways, i hope that this helps, and that they get better, or more adjusted.

Don't worry about it. It sounds like he is just nervous. I have tons of experience with buying guinea pigs, and that happened with every one. They were to afraid to eat or drink. All they wanted to do was stay in the house. If I were you, I would give him a little more time to adjust to his new surroundings. Also, he might not like the food or water. He obviously doesn't have a huge problem because he's eating veggies, but you probably should consider getting him the kind of food that he was fed before you bought him. (Just call the previous owner/pet store and ask.) If you put vitamin C in his water, he most likely doesn't like that; I would watch him closely. Water is more important than food, so if he does not start drinking tomorrow/tomorrow evening (today is July 8th), you should call the vet and ask about it. Keep an eye on the water level in the bottle.
Otherwise that, keep feeding him vegetables!

Most likely it's because he is nervous in his new home. Guinea pigs get scared easily. Just give him time to adjust. Make sure the water bottle is hanging at a level just slightly above his head--not too low or too high. Offer plenty of timothy hay every day--they can't resist it and it is the best diet for them. Keep a little bit of pellets in the bowl each day. Go easy on the vegies--they are treats, and not a balanced diet. Guinea pigs are grass eaters. Also, be sure to give him Vitamin C every day. The vitamin liquid sold for children is usually 500mg/teaspoonful. Get a syringe or 1ml eyedropper and give him 1/4-1/2 of an ml daily. Most guinea pigs learn to take it right from the syringe or dropper within days because they love the orange flavor. They can't live healthy lives without extra Vitamin C being added.

Give your piggie some Timothy Hay. They LOVE it, and it gives them the nutrients they need. Your guinea pigs should have it available all the time. If he's not eating pellets, the hay will be just as good. If he's not eating by tomorrow, take him to a vet, as he may be ill. They can lose weight very fast. Chances are he is just nervous, but don't wait too long before getting him looked at.

If he is eating the veggies, then he is just getting used to things. He is getting water from the veggies, so he isn't using the water bottle.
If you are using a different pellet than what he was eating before, then hes just not used to them yet. My pigs took a while to get used to the diet change.
If her isn't eating at all, then you need to get to the vet. It's probably a good idea anyway, especially if they came from a pet store. They need to be treated for mites and checked out.

He could have mites or pnemonia.I had a guinea pig that had some of those symptoms she only eat pellets and hay and drank water but never ate veggies or fruit. You might want to take your piggy to the vet because we didn't get a chance to and mine died 6 days after we got her.

Take your guinea pig to the vet to see what is wrong. My guinea pig was doing (or not doing) the same thing after the second day because I think that she had to get used to the new place, but 3 days after she started being normal.

Take it easy with the vegetables. Vegetables cause gas which creates bloat and you could kill them if you give them too much. If it's an emergency then your guinea pig belongs at the VET!!! That is part of responsible pet ownership and to deny it is abuse.
Get them to the vet!
