As a mother of a teenage son, tell him you saw him. Then tell him and mom and dad would not be happy about what he's doing on the "family computer." Because if the computer is registered to your mom or dad, and he happens to a child site just out of curiosity, your parent could get into a lot of TROUBLE. FBI and other law enforcement agencies are logged on looking for people hitting those sites and they can track where you live and who owns the system. Be honest with your brother, tell him you know and he needs to stop. Some porn is healthy for boys but some of that stuff is real bad. Tell him if you catch him again you're going to tell "mom." Plus the law enforcement thing he's putting your family in possible big trouble.

I don't think it is dependent on the state, since it is a federal law. Though, I think the most he can be charged with is possession, which can land him with a $50-$300 ticket (I believe it may be doubled, since he was in a school zone, however, I'm not exactly sure). If it is a repeat offense he could get jail time, but it's extremely unlikely.

How old is your brother??

If he is 17 or older, I don't think it's a big deal. But if he's younger, you should talk to him, and tell him it is not appropriate for his age. Then tell him that one more time will force you to tell your parents.

Young boys don't understand that porn is unreal--it is all fantasy, and women do NOT act like that in real life. He is also putting your computer at risk for spyware or viruses, because porn & spyware have a very tight relationship!!

Good luck, and good for you for CARING about your brother!

how old is your brother? if he is just a kid he should not be looking at porn.it will give him a bad attitude towards women and he should not look at women as just sex objects.if he is older he needs to do this in private as long as he is not so easily influenced as to think the people in there are doing anything but acting.porn belittles the beauty of sex which is sacred in marriage.you are not supposed to have sex with just anyone it is supposed to be special.it is not for kids.if he is too young let your parents know to block this stuff from the computer so your brother doesn't "accidentally" see it.good luck.

well if you think of it this way it could of been worse ! many boys in fact 3 in 4 boys will watch porn sometime in there lives 2 in 4 men will continue watching it though out there whole lives . i know this must come as a shock but its perfectly natural and you do not want to ruin your relationship with your brother by telling your parents if it will make u feel better talk to him about it calmly and ask to see he's side of things hope this helps

to tell you the truth most guys look at porn. so you can't really judge him on what you saw cuz there are probably 20 other guys on your street doing the same thing. just make noises next time you go downstairs. give him a scare. walk in and ask him why he is still up. he might not do it again.

I agree with others that we need to know his age. If he is a child, then you absolutely have to tell your parents so that they may talk to him and take necessary action to block those websites from the family computer.

I do want to tell you one other thing, though. Regardless of his age (even if he is an older teen/young adult) you have the right to not feel uncomfortable in your own home and if walking in on him made you uncomfortable, then you have every right to tell your parents so they also may have words with him.

Eek! Awkward! I guess it depends on how old he is...if he's just a kid, then he needs to cut it out, if he's a teen, then he needs to be at least a little more dicreet. You may have to have a little chat with him- not in a judging type of way, but in a way to let him know he needs to at least hide it a little better. I guess you just need to watch his behavior to make sure there is not an addiction forming. If so, you'll have to let the parents in on it.

the age of your brother is important.lots of guys do this. the problem starts when it becomes the main focus of a persons life. make no mistake, this is an addiction and can escalate to more serious problems. i would suggest you ignore it for now but if your brother is younger than 16 you could suggest to your parents that they might .want to check web site history.

That is what men do they look at porn. Don't make it a big deal it's normal for guys to look at porn. If you tell your parents then your brother is going to hate you for that and I know that you don't want that. Just talk to your brother and tell him that you caught him watching that stuff and for sure he is going to try to do it when no one is in the house. Good Luck and God Bless to you and your loved ones.
