1. If you haven't still loaded an Operating System then there is not Bootable (system) drive in your computer and so it will show you the error"
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

2. Install an OS and this error will go away.

your problem is well understood.. i had faced a similar one..
if it says system failure or boot disk failure, it means one or more of your system files which are used to boot the system have either been corrupted or deleted or affected by a virus.

So it is safe to store important data in any other drive other than your primary drive C: (this is for your future reference)

First u load your Vista CD onto the CD-ROM, then when the system boots and asks to press any key to boot from a CD, press enter

then follow the instructions on screen and format the drive you wish to install, then check for errors and then start installing, after your installation, you can boot and get into the windows logon screen as usual..

U better install an Anti virus software and regularly update it..
this will avoid such problems.. also avoid fiddling with the system files which will be usually in Windows folder and some might be hidden.. in any case do not delete them or replace them or rename them..

hope u recover your system soon .. do message me after everything returns to normal.....

Sounds like your next boot device is not connected right ( floppy,CD-ROM ). Make sure the the 1st boot device is master and second boot device is slave. check plastic jumpers on devices. second make sure your cable our hooked up correctly. most cables have a small red line running at the beginning of connector.**PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable. cant boot a CD til boot device is fixed

could envision the problematic disk is being seen via BIOS, sounds love that's or you may get a "problematic disk no longer got here upon" blunders. Throw the OS disk into the CD participant and installation, boot returned after installation and it may be advantageous. you're getting the blunders because of the fact BIOS does not see an working equipment so it does not understand the place to bypass as nicely.

everything you state is in correct order. but if you are using windows vista, it only comes in dvd. so your 1st boot device, change it to dvdrom. pxe-e61,etc is network boot. disk boot failure means there is no operating system on hard drive.

If your going to install Vista you are in for a nightmare it won't recognise any of your hardware and it doesn't accept any earlier version of windows programes either they all have to be Vista programs only. Stick with xp.

It's just waiting for you to put an OS on it. Install your windows and off you'll go.
