2 to 3 liters is OK in a day. Apart from your need to pee (as you so delightfully put it), are you feeling any other difficulty? any dizziness, cramps, weakness, fatigue? If not, no problem.

There have been cases of people drinking so much water that they threw their electrolyte and potassium balances out of whack and collapsed. The last case I read about involved a police officer who did die from excessive water consumption.

Personally, I would consult with a doctor or nurse practitioner and see what they have to say about the amount of water you need. I think it's great that you've eliminated soft drinks and sugary drinks from your diet -- that's definitely a healthy step. Just ask your health care provider how much water is enough and how much is too much.

Water poisoning happens when too much water hits our system all at once...so drinking a full gallon ALL AT ONCE could do that.

Steadily drinking water all day is excellent for you. If your pee is clear...you're doing great.

Make sure you are drinking good water.

Yes it is possible to die from water intoxication, in fact it has happened recently as a result of a radio contest. The amount you drink (3 liters) is not nearly enough to kill you. Your body tells you when you are thirsty, so you drink, just don't force it when you're not thirsty.

The only way someone can die from drinking water is if they drink gallons and gallons of water one after another. I ahve heard of people dieing while competing in contests to see who can chug the most water, but the person drank like 25 gallons of water in like 45 minutes. I also drink only water. It way better for you than drinking softdrinks. As long as you don't drink if your not thirsty you will be ok. The amont of water you drink is healthy.

No, water is the substance that metabolism must take place in. Drinking a lot of water may make you need to go to the bathroom, but unless you drown yourself will not kill you.

TOO MUCH WATER CAN DEFINATELY KILL YOU. A MOTHER JUST DIED IN A RADIO CONTEST TRYING TO WIN A NINTENDO GAME SYSTEM FOR HER KIDS FROM DRINKING TOO MUCH WATER TOO FAST. IF YOU GET HEADACHES SLOW DOWN ON THE WATER. ALSO EAT MORE SALT IF YOU DRINK ALOT OF WATER. OVER HYDRATING CAUSES SODIUM TO DEPLETION AND RESULTS IN BRAIN SWELLING.
