This is a fascinating question for those of us who watched modern digital communications and the Internet develop. The questioner takes high-speed, high-bandwidth, free, real-time digital music connections as the standard. It was not that many years ago when we were all thoroughly stuck trying to conceive a way of digitizing a three-minute musical selection and then placing in a portable, inexpensive format. The geometric improvements in technology--the miniaturization of recording techniques in CD's and digital tapes, the incredibly cheaper memories, and the cleverness of data compression techniques all came to our rescue.

To the questioner, please look at the other answers: a radio receiver will receive only those radio stations that are within range, over broadcast frequencies. Chances are, your city has a fairly reasonable selection of radio stations. If it doesn't, you're out of luck as a radio listener in that town.

i agree that you should get an mp3 player. buy the cheapest one you can find. you probably don't exercise for much more than a couple hours so you could get away with a fairly small capacity player. also with mp3 players you can download podcasts so you can listen to spoken word shows.
there are very few all classical stations except in very big market cities. see if you have a local npr station. they often play classical music during the day. also if there are any local colleges they often have classical stations that broadcast locally.
