God thought it would be kinda neat to see if Job would lose his faith or not. I guess he couldn't figure out a less vile method to do so.

Because Satan had made the assumption that mankind would not stay loyal to God if they could not get anything out of it or that they would abandon him when bad times come ahead (Job 1:8-11)."Skin in behalf of skin, and everything that a man has he will give in behalf of his soul" is what Satan said (Job 2:4). Since at that time Job was Jehovah's most loyal servant, Satan would see it as a great acheivement in causing Job to curse God by taking everything away from him. So God, having faith in Job, gave Satan the permission to test Job, but not kill him. Job, although not understanding why these things were happening to him and wrongly accusing God to be punishing him, never did curse Jehovah. Through Job, God proved Satan wrong; that humans could prove faithful to him, even though trial. Afterward, Jehovah blessed Job with more than he had before his trials.

God did not torture Job. Satan did. Read carefully and you will see a challenge to God's right to rule. Satan said man only worshiped God for what man could get out of it, not out of love.

Being a God of Justice, He allowed Satan to test whether it was so. God had confidence in Job. He permitted the tests but forbid Satan from killing Job. After Job past the tests, Satan was proved wrong again and Job was rewarded with 3 times what he had before.

God Loved Job and knew Job was Faithful to Him....it was satan who began Jobs testing, by going to the Lord and asking Him if He knew his servant Job? satan was the one who said, if your servant Job loves you so much, then take away the things you have given him and see what happens. God knwing Job was Faithful to Him ALLOWED it to take place as a Test...One has to remember that God felt Job was Strong enough to Handle it, because certain things would take place at certain times, it didn't all happen in ONE day.....In the End Job repented and God gave him More than he had in the first place.....God is a Mighty God and I think it'simportant to NOTE that Many people go through Sufferings, Not just Job.....I was born with a rare Medical Condition, that keeps me mainly bed-ridden...Why I don't know, But GOD does and that's good enough for me....I love HIM regardless..One day I am certain I will have the chance to sit down with Job and discuss the things we endured..God is Wonderful indeed....

GOD does know everything and he knew that Job was a honorable man who loved and trusted in him.it was a test so Job would in the end be even more assured of GODS loving presence and divinity because Satan had challenged GOD by declaring that Job was so loyal to GOD because GOD had blessed Job so abundantly.GOD knew Jobs heart and knew that was not true but to prove to the universe and even the angels in heaven GOD allowed it.as you know GOD then blessed even ten times greater than before the test.it is a wonderful story which shows even GODS faithful may suffer greatly through no wrong of their own but in any case GOD is always near,he never abandons the ones who love and trust in him.

Satan thought he could beat God... Satan wanted to prove that his way was a better way and that Job was only good because God blessed him and his family. God, knowing Job's heart, allowed Satan to torment Job; which, ultimately proved that Satan was wrong.

Those who think that God is evil support Satan's claim that there is a better way a different way. Many people on this forum make this same claim...

Ok. Satan told God that he could get even His most devout follower to doubt God's will and give up their faith. God said Satan wouldn't be able to. So God allowed Satan to kill Job's family, take his house, his wealth, and everything good in his life, and through it all Job never once asked "Why, God, have you done this to me?" He trusted God's judgement and knew God would make things right. And once Satan realized Job's faith would not be shaken, he gave up. God, in turn, gave Job back his home, his wealth, and gave him a new, loving family.

God allowed Satan to test Job because Satan said that Job only served him because of all that he had.

Job proved Satan to be a liar.

Read the account in your Bible.

To show Job that he didn't know as much about God as Job thought he did. Even Job admits he "declared, but did not understand". Funny how of the many people who complain about God's treatment of Job, Job isn't one of them.

Its a teaching for you, today. All those horrible things happened to Job (which means "persecuted') and then three of his buddies come to visit to give him lots of advice. Then you read 38 chapters of blah
blah blah senseless nonsense from those religious friends - telling Job how he better repent of those obvious sins, etc.
Then God finally speaks to Job in Chapter 39, saying, (my words, but this is it)
Job, what are you listening to those unlearned idiots for? LISTEN TO ME.

Now there's a lesson for people for today;
STOP LISTENING TO THE UNLEARNED AND START LISTENING TO THE GUY WHO really is the representative of
Christianity, Jesus Christ.
God tells Job to straighten up and act like a man; He asks Job where he thinks he was when his Heavenly Father put the stars in the sky, or set the Earth on its rotation; where was Job when all the sons of God sang together with joy? Job didn't know.
God told him, thats right, you don't know these things so when something happens in your life that you also DON'T KNOW, then you go to God, not to unlearned idiots.

The entire book is a wonderful but very simple lesson. Job was what is called a "type"; one of those "types" that God puts forth in his word to teach us about something that will happen in our lives.
Job is a type of Gods Election; His elect will also be attacked by Satan, and also persecuted before the return of Christ, in the last days; Thats why it was so important for God to send this message to his Election that although you will be persecuted and attacked by Satan, you have been given power over all your spiritual enemies, but that you must know where that power comes from: It comes from God and nowhere else. You will note in the beginning chapter that Satan tells God, "if you would just remove that hedge of protection from around him"; well, Gods elect have that hedge of protection around them, too, and it is exactly as strong as the individuals faith in Christ.

The Book of Job is absolute necessary reading for anyone who professes to be a soldier of Christ. Read it with understanding to know how to conduct yourselves at the time of your own persecution.

If you notice and pay attention, God tests you everyday with things he may tempt you with. God let the devil torture Job to test to see if he really has enough faith in Him to still believe in God and trust him. But you know, after all the sufferings and pains he went through, Job got even a better wife and family.
