Usually it can be, although it can be difficult sometimes. Generally, I find writers to be some of the most snobby people when it comes to those who are learning languages. You would think they'd be a bit more open than that. If English isn't your native language, they're being pretty disrespectful to you.

This is a question about linguistics. As long as the main part of a message are present then it can be understood. Think if you are standing by a noisy machine and you do not pick up every word - you often can still understand.

If you listen to two strangers talking - you can generally get the gist even when they refer to things that they are not explicit about.

I don't understand what you're asking. You're bullied for not understanding correct English? Surely as editor you should be able to understand, part of the job isn't it?

I am told that English is a very difficult language to learn to use properly but a very easy language to make yourself understood in. I sometimes find it diffficult with a very strong accent but can usually make out what it meant eventually

I worked for many years as a social worker, and from my experience I can confirm that those bulling you are stupid twits.even speaking the same language is not a guaranty that they will understand and empathised properly with each other.

GOOD QUESTION...Yes. People often use excuses. Clever people, use many a trick to gather information. Just as your question. You may be, too nice, or to stupid, or even smarter, than those, who pretend to bully you. I could be me, someone else, or a fool. I could even make stuff up, and have it printed just for fun.
