Is it true that you get travel to Canada with Birth Certificate and drivers license?.......

only if you are a US citizen driving in a car across the border.
As of 2008 that will change also where you will require a passport

Flying this year was all that required a passport. And those rules were downgraded and postponed. If you enter by land or sea Birth Certificate and drivers license is sufficient. It is suppose to change next year but could be postponed too.

They have temporarily lifted the passport requirement for now but they are saying that you will at least need a copy of your application receipt to get back in the U.S. The reason you can come and go from Canada with just a dl and bc is because it is not Canada's law, it's the U.S. So your answer is you can go to Canada but you are risking getting back into the USA.

I live on the border and as of now if driving you only need a drivers license or state id card. If flying you need a passport.

no that changed this january you now need a passport..=] you use to be able to do that..but now you can't
