Hi Miss If anything brings about a great day it is the local beaches in our town and of course it is a good idea to be at the beach the waves the sand the smell of sea air and the rolling ocean waves. You have a car don't you ?well if you can find any parking spots near like say ocean beach then go for it,if gas for the car is an issue then take the local #35 bus and get off at newport avenue,it is all endless and up to you to decide where to go.As we all say YOU GO GIRL.

I've been living in San Diego for almost 20 years and, although I don't visit the beach often (due to limited free time), whenever I get the chance, I go. It all depends on what you're looking for.
If you like crowds and lots of action, head to Mission Beach by the coaster. You can get in some great people-watching and there are restroom facilities and food & beverage options very close by. The rip currents can be dangerous so make sure to heed lifeguard warnings. Drinking is allowed on the beach (no drinking on the boarwalk/wall and no bottles allowed) so you do have to deal with the usual "risks" that go along with it. Get there early - traffic can be challenging.
If you want an alcohol-free beach, hit Coronado. It's absolutely gorgeous and somewhat out-of-the-way so you don't deal with as many crowds. Parking is a challenge since there aren't any dedicated parking lots but there is on-street parking available.
The La Jolla Cove is also a fabulous place to visit. You have lots of options as far as "fun stuff" to do - along with surfing, you can kayak, snorkel, etc.
Whichever beach you go to, you can't beat a day at the beach in SD. Enjoy!

I was born and raised on the beach in San Diego,
Pacific Beach. What better child or adulthood can there be?
If you are worried about sun burn, use sun screen and go in the morning or late afternoon

Of course it's a great idea. The weather is nearly always perfect. The water is warm. Tomorrow morning get out your best bathing suit, and go!!!

No. Stay inside, and draw the blinds closed. Wait for the undertaker.
