These are a few, if you need more later let me know, everyone loves that jamplay !! I hope these help, I sure wish they had these when I first started.
As for songs:
Yesterday, Beatles
Time In A Bottle, Jim Croce
Tears in Heaven, Clapton
The Rock Version of Canon, Pachelbel
My Heart Will Go On, from the Titanic (girls love this one.)
In My Life, Beatles
Blowin in the Wind, Bob Dylan
Landslide, Fleetwood Mac
Hope this is what you wanted, good luck to you, most of these songs I play finger style, this way it sounds like two or more guitars are playing, but you could strum them. ( I play classical guitar that's why I prefer finger style.) A pick and I don't get along too well, I'm so use to using fingers.

Guitar and Piano are 2 fully special beasts. The guitar has plenty of timbral versatility to it in comparison to the piano. For instance, the sixth be anxious at the low E string is the equal pitch as the first be anxious at the A string, however they've fairly special sounds for the reason that resonance will get worried. It's rather a a laugh software to play nonetheless. If you are leaning to play Electric, get a Squier Strat. Every guitar participant you recognize is in most cases gonna let you know or else, for the reason that, it sounds unhealthy or is not the finest guitar on the earth. While that's precise, it is also low-cost, and in comparison to One Act guitars, it isn't too unhealthy. It's not up to $250 for the percent with the amp and the tuner, cable, bag, and the whole lot else, and it isn't a nasty set. I'm nonetheless making use of the gig bag I received from it five years in a while my Iceman. The amp finally went for the reason that I used it external in really humid stipulations and the electrics corroded over. But for the fast time period, it is a well funding. When you first select up an software to be trained, you have got to expand your train competencies, each mechanics and in general working towards, so do not spend $four hundred on a guitar immediately. It's a disgrace to look persons spend $500+ on Epiphone Les Pauls and knock offs, be trained the right way to play a couple of songs, after which stop and feature the guitar crammed in a closet. If you do get the set, there may be frequently a guide integrated wherein it teaches you a couple of notes on every string, then a few chords, offers you a few elementary songs, with notes and chords. Nothing to deep into the speculation however use that during studying the mechanics, which'll finally aid you within the conception. Go by way of the guide, ensure you realize it, then pass to a trainer, who will educate you (preferably) complicated mechanics, then begin introducing conception. Some persons say to be trained the right way to play tabs which might be very handy if you happen to wish to be trained a track or a brand new manner however keep on with the regular notation for the reason that it is going to actually aid you. Guitar is not always problematic to be trained if you are inclined to place within the time to train, however it is ridiculously beneficial to play.

Go to ur local music shop & buy a book of chords. Do u know how to tune it? From the lowest string it's E A D G B E. top E is E above middle C. If u don't have a keyboard to tune to buy a set of pich pipes (cheap) or an electronic tuner. (easier to use). Choose 2 or 3 chords. A D E are good, D is useful too. Learn them 1 ata time, then practise changing between them. A D E are the key of A . D G A ae the key of D. There are stacks of songs out there in 3 chords. Sixties rock.n.roll - Johnny B Goode. Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes all use A D E. Kumbaya uses D G A. Yellow Submarine is only 2 chords, depending on what key u sing it in. Hope this helps.

I've been playing the guitar for only seven months now, but I wouldn't suggest learning online. It will probably frustrate you more than help you. My first suggestion would be to receive lessons, as this is probably the best way to learn. Having someone just to teach the basics is so beneficial. If you don't want to do that, my next suggestion would be to buy some sort of instructional book. I have this (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-5715941-6550217?asin=0634034359&afid=yahoosspplp_bmvd&lnm=0634034359|Books_:_Play_Guitar_Today!_-_Complete_Kit:_The_Ultimate_Self-Teaching_Method&ref=tgt_adv_XSNG1060), and it has step by step lessons and explanations that make things very easy. It teaches both tab and regular sheet music. I played the trumpet before I picked up on guitar too, so I know you will already know how to read music. Whatever you choose, best of luck!

These are all very helpful answers.
If you want you could look into a music computer program called Band in the Box. You can play along with the 'band' and there are many extra learning tools you can add to learn how to play guitar. Give it a look see. You might like it.
What to sing? Dylan, Beatles, Sting or any song that the lyrics reach out to you.
Have fun!

i play acoustic guitar. i've been playing for about a year and a half now. When i tried to start playing i went to some websites and things like that but that is a really hard way to learn i think. Then i got my dad to help me. He is pretty good and it was alot easier for me to learn with someone right there infront of me. if you don't have anyone that knows how to play. Maybe you could get one of your friends to start playing with you that way you have someone with you and that might be a help too. Hope this helps. good luck!
