There isnt really a proved way to do this, but try to think about something you want to dream about right before you go to sleep and maybe your dream will be based on that. it works for me sometimes. =]]

I don't believe you can use a short cut.
The process begins by realizing that your dreaming. This is accomplished by acknowledging that something is impossible. For instance: You can fly like Peter Pan in your dreams and you say, "gee, this is impossible, I must be dreaming."
Next you have to imagine yourself with super powers. Think, "if I do such and such, then blank should happen..." Sometimes it works out perfectly and some times things go wrong.
I've been able to control my dreams so that I can fly and do what I want to... good luck.

Ah, good question grasshopper! Not too many people are aware that they can do this! First you have be aware that your dreaming WHEN your dreaming! I became aware of this in Jr. High while having a nightmare, I was so scared in my dream that I was wishing very hard for a different outcome and low and behold I did change it! From that point on when I would dream I would try to make an effort to become aware of all that was going on in my dream them try to manipulate it. IF this sounds difficult this is what I told my son when he was five and having bad dreams of being chased, " When your dreaming imagine that you can magically create any weapon you want to protect your self and that its in your hand. You turn to this thing that's chasing you and you make yourself grow real tall and you have your weapons, then tell him to go away or you'll kill him." I wanted him to know that he always had the upper hand against anything that he feared in his dreams. I took a few days of actual visualization techniques until he was comfortable with being able to use his imagination effectively. But basically that's it, the next bad dream he had, he won!LOL!! Let me know how you do? We don't always remember our dreams. But it might help if you kept a journal by your bed and the very moment you wake up you write only what you remember, sometimes the more you try to remember the more you invent! Don't be disheartened it won't work all the time. I dream in color and I feel and smell everything as though I were living it!

when you don't see anything in your dreams it's because you were in deep sleep and just don't remember dreaming. as far as controloooing dreams why would you want to? dreams are natures way of working through the days problems in the sub-concious part of the brain. everything you see in your dreams are just symbols. and only you can interprete them. if you want to control your dreams it takes prastice and alot of it. when you go to bed do some deep breathing exercises. turn the lights off in your bedroom. make sure you are not too hot or too cold. slowly breathe in air through your noseto the count of 8 hold until the count of 4 slowly release the air through your mouth to a count of 8. make sure you shoulders are relaxed. repeat until you feel very relaxed. if you can't get totally relaxed for the first several tries repeat the next bight and so forth. it takes some people longer than others. when you accomplished this then when you go to bed do you deep breathing and tell yourself that you will be able to control your dreams. start off with something easy. once you have accomplished that you can move into more complex things. please keep reminding yourself that this can take awhile to accomplish. eventually you will be able to do this automatically. good luck.

There is no sure way to control your dreams after REM-raipd Eye Movment. Before that right when you go to sleep you can have control over them. However once you are in deep sleep it is very very had to control what it going on. Your mind it 'at rest' during this time. So you really can't control them, but sometimes, and there is no way you can make sure you can do this, you can have input or control but very little. Dreams are there to sometimes act out what we wanted during the day but can't have or the fears that may have been bottled up or to escape the world for something eles. It hard to contorl your mind because sometimes, in dreams, you are shown what you really want, and sometimes its not what you think.

Through lucid dreaming, you can control your dreams and what you want to do in it. Many people have trouble trying to control their dreams because once they've realized that they are in a dream, it's pretty much over or the dream has ended. Lucid dreaming is a skill that takes a lot of time into mastering it. And when you do, you are able to dream at will. It is said that there is only 100,000 people in the US that can have lucid dreams. I have had lucid dreams a couple times in my life. Before you go to sleep, the trick to getting a controlled dream is to repeat in your mind that you are dreaming and what you wnat to dream about. But of course, sometimes we may fall asleep and cannot connect to teh dream then.

you have to really really focuse, im not sure but i think that i am controlling my own dreams, i just remeber that i had a few dreams where i would think of something to say, and then relize how dumb that would sound and say something better, and i asked questions that i wanted to ask, things i thought about in reality. And i have had a deams where i knew i was dreaming.
anyway, one thing i remember is that i would think about a crush i had, and i would want to have a dream about him, and i would think about him when i was almost about to fall asleep, and then i would think about something else, whenever i did that i would have a dream about him. Try that, it's not something that has been scientifically proven, but it works for me, so maybe it will work for you, also you might want to learn about the law of attraction, you can watch the movie called "the secret" which explains it, or you can buy a book about it, there are several books about it, or you can look on youtube about it, they have something about it.
Basickly the law of attraction is about attracting more of what you want and being able to stay away from things you dont want (negative and positive energy)
I hope i havn't gone completely off topic.
sweet dreams!!

I wish, but I try controlling my dreams when I have them abut it doesn't work out the way I planned. But maybe, just maybe there is a way if you really think about it. Nothing is impossible, it could be possible to control your dreams I say: 60% yes and 40% No. :-) for the possibility of controlling a dream.

Jump. If you float - you are dreaming.
Once you recognize you are dreaming, you can choose to remove yourself from the setting by flying out (all you have to do is jump! It's that easy!), or waking yourself up.
Sometimes you can control your dreams by telling yourself things that are true when you are going to sleep. Some nights I have to repeat over and over, "I'm married. I have graduated from junior high, high school, and college. I wear clothes. I have all of my teeth. I'm okay." It sounds silly, but if I do this I stop dreaming about being back in junior high trying to avoid the hall monitors and wondering when I last did my homework!
If you tell yourself true facts about yourself before going to sleep, when you recognize you are in a dream you can give yourself more power to control the dreams by remembering what is really true in your your life.
You can also start giving yourself tools in your real life to help you in your dreams. Learning how to do things and fix things by yourself will give you much more control in your dreams.
When I find I am naked in a dream I have learned to shut my eyes and clothe myself - when I open my eyes I have clothes on and all is well. I have learned how to find weapons to defend myself by putting certain objects away in my house in the same place each and every time. I pay attention to the location doors and windows of buildings in my dreams so I can fly out of them to escape the horrible, evil people trying to get me. By being more aware of how to use tools in my real life, I have more tools to use in my dreams.
Practice this yourself. It takes time, but it works.
Good Luck.

Lucid dreaming. It is so much fun. However, it takes a long time to be able to master it. It is hard work. There really isn't much of a shortcut to gaining control.
