K. So my husband is deploying to Iraq and will not be able to wear his wedding ring for safety reasons. So we are wanting to do some kind of tattooing on our fingers so he can still have that representation. Ive read alot about how if you get a band all the way around it will fade on the underside of your finger very quickly. So I thought we could get each others names tattooed very small on top of our fingers. Shane on mine and Amanda on his. (My theory here is that people at amusement parks put your name on rice all the time. ???) I have had a really horrible time trying to find pictures on the web. Alot of talk about tattooed wedding bands but like no pictures. So if someone could tell me where to find some or just some more good advice, Id really appreciate it. Also, we both already have tattoos...if thats important. ??? And we'd like them to be small enough to be hidden under our rings. Between an 1/8th of an inch and a 1/6th of an inch. :S A design of ivy wouldnt be bad. Thanks!

My husband is also in Iraq however, he wasnt told he couldnt wear his ring, thats strange they wont let your husband wear his!

Personally I have seen the wedding band thing done, in fact my tattoo artist has one, lol, and it looks great both on the bottom and the top.

The size your referring to is really really small. I dont think they'll be able to do it and still have it readable. But call the parlor or better yet, stop in and talk to the artist, he will give you the best advice on this.

Godspeed to your husband... you and him will be in my prayers. This is my second deployment in four years so I can feel your pain. Take care and good luck with the tat's!

For something that small I wouldn't recommend anything to detailed, while it would probably look good for now, the ink will start to blur over time and you wouldn't be able to read the names. That and I don't agree with tattooing any names with the exception of your children. I think the ivy would be nice.

It would be unique and whichever parlor you go to they should have pictures and design types before you actually put it on your had! Hope this helped!!! Good Luck
