Our bodies need oxygen to survive. Each cell in our body receives oxygen from our blood and the "used" (CO2) carbon dioxide is returned to be recirculated and cleansed by our circulatory system.
We may be allergic to things in the air, plants, grasses, flowers, weeds, etc., but not to oxygen.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR A PERSON TO BE ALLERGIC TO OXYGEN. Allergins are anearobic pathogens, meaning they only have one atom of oxygen per molecule, when you introduce extra atoms of oxy it actually overcomes the allergy by destroying the pathogenic molecular structure thus destroying the cellular composition of the pathogen (allergin). Noone, no living biological entity can be allergic to oxygen or water, there can be allergins in water or oxygen, but I am sure that you are suffering from a severe airborne allergin such as mistletoe pollen, which you are most likely being exposed to because mistletoe produces pollen from July to September, and since we have had a very wet summer, it is probably blooming now.

Yes. One can be allergic to just about anything and there is quite a choice of chemicals in the air in a large city, pollen in the countryside, dust in houses etc. And then you have all the things you eat and drink, the washing powder and softener you use for your clothes, the fabrics themselves, perfume and cosmetics, shampoo, soap ... anything! It sounds to me like you are a multi-allergic person and are severely affected. If I were you I would start an elimination process to find out what more precisely I am allergic to. Change to a neutral, non-perfumed washing powder and softener. Eliminate certain foods from my diet for 3 or 4 weeks. Eggs, fish, tomatoes, strawberries are common allergens, and then you have all the flavour and colour additives. Quite a programme! It must be done systematically. It's a lengthy and boring process but a necessary one if you want to get rid of your allergy reaction problems. If the medical profession cannot help you, you have in England numerous good kinesiologists who can help. Hope this helps! Wishing you good health!

Is it logical to believe that someone can be allergic to oxygen and be alive? Does this sound like a condition that's compatible with life? Our very basic cellular function is oxygen-dependent. You are the one who's right.

NO. Humans cannot be allergic to oxygen alone. Oxygen is the essence of life.

Our existence is based on the availability of oxygen. We breath it and use it internally to burn our food. If one were allergic to it, they would die, or probably wouldn't be born alive because we begin using oxygen almost from the moment of conception.

NO, you can not be allergic to just an element. It has to be a combination. Like some people are allergic to H20. (One Hydrogen and two oxygen. aka water)

Anyone with an oxygen allergy would die at birth. I've never heard of anyone with an oxygen allergy, but I guess anything's possible.
