Seems to me that the media doesn't want to put the truth about global warming out there and the falsehood of it..Science magazine and researchers from all over have said that the earth is actually cooler now then it was over 100,000 years ago! What do the Al Gore supporters think about that? My inner me always thought it was a bogus claim....

We must not confuse the cooling of the inner core of Mother Earth with the global warming issue. Ever since the creation of the solar system... mother earth is cooling down. This cooling is in terms of the temperatures in the core of the planet Earth getting lowered. Global warming has resulted due to many factors some of which are-

1. Puncturing of the ozone layer due to excessive release of CFC (chloro fluoro carbon) gases into the atmosphere. The harmful ultraviolet rays that were restricted by the ozone layer now reach Mother Earth causing very harmful effects... the major of which being global warming. The other harmful effects being a rise in cases of skin diseases and the like!

2. Melting of icecaps on an unprecedented scale. This has led to excessive floods world over. With passage of time such flooding would cause irreparable damage to the upper crust of Earth and to the humanity at large. Flooding normally erodes the surface of the earth good for vegetation and other produces.

3. Inconvenience to mankind at large as rise in global temperatures in some parts of the world has changed weather conditions. People not accustomed to such high temperatures are falling sick in large numbers. The rise in global temperatures is a great cause of worry for countries in the European belt not accustomed to high temperatures!

4. One of the major factors of global warming is unilateral bombardment of Afghanistan and Iraq by USA and its allies. The war was declared in Afghanistan to root out terrorism... the resurfacing of Taliban in Afghanistan proves otherwise. The war was declared on Iraq to uncover WMD (weapons of mass destruction) which were never found!

The result... a total chaos in the world environment! All countries... every human being is bound to suffer from global warming. What can be more pitiable than the fact... Every single human being shall pay for the atrocities of USA and its allies in the name of WMD and terrorism! The massive heat generated in Iraq years before is being felt now. TAKE YOUR p.c.. the mayas say 2012 the conflict could be faster identity say the atom bombs is sturdy now the biggest possibility right this is my selection of ends of the humanity dont subject the planet will stay to tell the story ,in spite of the undeniable fact that it is not going that we are going to many predictions are for the years between 2012 and 2020 Nostradamus, the mayas ,Egyptions Jesus ,and Terrance Mckennas time wave who placed the magnetic output of the international right into a computor projection that stopped at 0 in 2012,this stops the globe and it starts off growing to be to be the different direction ,the ensuing exchange of currents will turn the planet right into a great washer cleansing the exterior then there are the meteor ,the gulf of Mexico is the end results of one that would have made existence exstinct for a on an identical time as ,this could bring about an different ice age if the globe is roofed in airborne dirt and dust then there are organic failures Volcanos are coming to existence everywhere the climate has massive storms like hurricanes ,tornados ,tidal waves ,earth quackes a shift of the earth crust ,like a changing of the poles under Anrarctica have been got here across fosilized tropical flowers indication the pole could desire to have been in a diverse place then (the mainland atlantis is understood to be under it ) Now we've been given worldwide warming to shelter (see my answer on worldwide warming) and the biggest possibility to any species of exstinction is ,whilst there are too little ,and whilst there are too many ,so overpopulation is likewise a raffle and the rustic seems to be gunning for a international nuclear conflict .this is maximum probable that this could get us first staring at present day politics the planet will probable stay to tell the story until humanities bombs result it to be knocked out of its orbit lots of ends to make your mind up from if it wasnt so intense it may be rediculous meanwhile relish existence .and take income of it a minimum of we are all interior the comparable boat

Media, schmedia! Whoever said that they tell us any truth at all. I believe that the world will end according to God's plan. However with the way man is poisoning the environment we may destroy ourselves before even the Almighty can sort us all out. But global warming? Could happen with so many automobiles puking carbon monoxide into the atmosphere there could be some truth to the "Greenhouse effect". But science aside I just pray that God will deal with us as a loving father to his unruly children and help us to cure this beautiful planet He/She let us borrow.

You're absolutely right that it was warmer more than 100,000 years ago.

And, when it was warmer, our coastline was _very_ different, as were the growing conditions for crops.

Want to move millions of people? Want to replace everything we lose to flooding? Want to completely redo our agriculture and irrigation systems?

In short, want to spend so much money it will put us into a depression that will make the 1930s look like a great time?

I prefer to spend a much smaller sum to reduce global warming to the point where we can cope with the remaining effects. Here's the plan:

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,481085,00.html
http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM040507.pdf

The "BBS documentary" referred to above wasn't shown on the BBC (they wouldn't touch it) and it's a crock, not a documentary.

"A Channel 4 documentary claimed that climate change was a conspiratorial lie. But an analysis of the evidence it used shows the film was riddled with distortions and errors."

http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/climate_change/article2355956.ece

So, why did Channel 4 broadcast it?

"The science might be bunkum, the research discredited. But all that counts for Channel 4 is generating controversy."

The Earth was not warmer 100,000 years ago. Where are you getting this stuff??? The Earth was in an ice age 100,000 years ago.!

No offense, but you're just making claims based on misinformation. It's not fair to the people here looking for answers. Honestly you're just embarrassing yourself.

When you say "science magazines and researchers from around the world" have disproved global warming, you're making that up and you know it.

The truth is that the world's body of top scientists that study climatology and meteorology have proven the existence of global warming, it's causes, and projected impacts. Read the link below before spouting off non-sense.

Stop making stuff up!!

Whatever's causing it, Global Warming is not going to be the end of the world. Even the worst-case scenarios are things humanity will be able to adapt to. Climate Change is a fact of geological history, we'd be better served in understanding and adapting to it, than we would in trying to control it without fully understanding it.

there are many facts supporting the thoughts of people to beleive that global warming is not true. but there are much stronger facts to support the beleif that it is true. for instance. the humans ever growing reliability on fossil fuels which emit carbon dioxide when used. or humans cutting down trees which would help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. carbon dioxide is the main contributor of the greenhouse effect, which keeps heat that is radiated of the surface of the earth in, instead of letting it out as it would.

Perhaps they sad 130,000 years ago, since as pointed out by crackaboy, it was much colder 100,000 years ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Vostok-ice-core-petit.png

Regardless, how does that have anything to do with the current global warming?

How many humans were alive 130,000 years ago? Hmm let me think.....100? Wait no...it was zero! Therefore maybe it's possible that humans can't survive in temperatures as hot as it was 130,000 years ago!

Or maybe you're trying to argue that because the planet has been warmer in the past, that humans can't be causing global warming right now.

If that's what you're arguing, will you please go take a class in logic?

Here's some proof to what he is saying--a BBC documentary, not some right-wing propaganda.

They point out that the climate was much warmer in the Middle Ages, as evidenced by winemaking in England. This was well before any industrialization started putting greenhouse gases in the air. It then cooled off again, to a much cooler time than it is now. The most likely cause of this, as it is now, was solar activity. We are going through a period of increased solar activity, which is causing more warming on our planet (as well as others in our solar system--where there are not humans) For more evidence of this look at the current warming trend over the last 100 years--during the 70s, temperatures actually dropped, as did solar activity.
