Just tell your boss you are prepared to do anything to move ahead in your career, that always gets a raise for me!

When they say you're making top pay, they are probably saying that you are at the top of the pay bracket they have set for that job. There's nothing to say that can't be changed.

If you can get salary info for comparable jobs other places, that could help. Meet with your boss and list the things you have done that are "above and beyond" what would be expected - then if he comes up with the top pay comment, show him the comparable figures for other places. Tell him you really don't want to go elsewhere, but do need money to live.

Good luck.

Find a job with another company with a offer higher than what you have. Then go to them with your resignation in hand and explain they weren't paying you what you are worth so you had to go where you could earn more. If they offer to match the new job leave anyhow since they don't value you and you would never get more raises, if they felt used they might start looking for your replacement so you would be let go in a few weeks if you stay.

Meet with your employer and give them 5 good reasons, in a gentle way, as to why you believe you deserve a raise. Good luck to you...
