I want to lose some weight before school starts in about 3 months. I'm a 15 year old female, 5'2 or 5'3 and about 120 lbs. I'm eating about 1300-1500 calories per day and eating healthy foods. I have a rowing machine, an exercise ball, a punching bag, a jumprope and some weights. How many calories should I be burning each day to see results and what exercises should I do each day with what equipment. Thanks!!

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Your weight is actually normal for your height. I am 42 and 5'1 and weigh 121 lbs and my only complain is my mid-section (but that is due to childbearing and a poor diet). You seem to be doing all the right things. I would suggest to cut your calories a little if you are trying to lose weight. You say you weigh 120 lbs. If you times that by 10, it is 1200, which is what you should eat to maintain your weight. To lose weight you have to burn off more than you consume. Try to cut out maybe 200 calories a day (could be as easy as not drinking 1 can of soda per day or one bag of chips).

The amount of calories that you are consuming is good. You should be burning the maximum amount of calories you can. don't overwork yourself but try to burn about 300 calories a day in your exercise. Also, doing things with your weights will help you build leaner muscle.
Good luck ! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to hit me up :)

If your eating 1300-1500 calories per day then you need to burn more than that.
there are 3500 calories in a pound. The important thing, is to eliminate the sugars and carbs in your diet as much as you can-the body will then draw from existing fat supplies to get energy to exercise and you will see results. Keep with the non-starchy veggies (stay away from potatoes, corn, lima beans and green peas) and most fruits are fine for natural sugars-stay away from bananas.
