As noted in several posts, I believe it's a lack of self-esteem. I went through a very negative time in my early twenties-I was incredibly negative and picked apart everything and everyone. Total strangers I'd have an insult about, but it was always something they were wearing or doing that I did not have the confidence to exhibit. When I finally accepted the fact that the insults were due to my own insecurities, I stopped judging others and went to work on myself.
People are afraid of those who differ from themselves, or exhibit confidence, it makes them feel inferior. When this occurs it usually results in retaliation, even if non-provoked.
If these guys are taking the time to note everything you say or do, they are either actually impressed with you, attracted (afraid of rejection-self-esteem issue?), or just exhibiting their lack of confidence in themselves.

People with low self-esteem sometimes use others to make themselves feel better. They feel that by humiliating or putting others down (essentially below them in their eyes) that they are raising themselves up. It's an internal lie. In actuality these guys probably feel very low about themsleves and see you as a radiant light that is over shadowing them. Don't take it personally - it's their problem that they must deal with. And you know that no matter what they say or do you know you are amazing and valuable and worthy.

They tease you because you have something for them to tease. You are different from others and so they use this difference as their source of fun. I suggest you ignore them. Have the courage to make friend with them. Do something nice and kind to them to let them know that even though they tease you, yet you can respond in friendship. Never fight fire with fire. Fight fire with water.

Don't let people like that get into your head.
They are obviously insecure of themselves,
or they just like you, and don't want you to know.
But NEVER take what they say into consideration;
Because everyone is perfect just the way they are.

Because you react to them. They are feeding off of your reactions. So just ignore them, focus on something else. It won't be immediate, it will take a very long time.

If you are really offended at their teasing. , just warn them you are going to report their teasing to principal. and keep your one of the friends with you as witness when you say after they tease you.
so first you must be offended.
second you must report
thrid to report this you must have witness who should be your friend
fourth boys must tease you in presence of your friend and fourth you must warn them also in the presence of your friend.
thus your case will be strong and boys will get punishment and will never ever dare to tease you. and you will be releived for ever.

they either have a crush on you and don't want to admit it, or they are just complete assholes. It can really go either way, my advice is just to kick the biggest one where it counts.
