I want to tell my boyfriend of 5 months that i love him (we're 18) but im kinda scared if he doesn't say it back. Im a bit old fashioned and not v emotional/romantic/feely etc and so not sure if i should wait for him to say it first?? He's said it to me a couple of times through text (were both shy) but not to my face and he acts like he does (puts me before friends, treats me like a princess, travels a few hours a week to see me, i could go on!) but i think im gonna burst if i don't. Do you think it would be a good idea to text him it (as he's on hol for a few weeks), and tell him when he gets back so i can see what he says OR just wait for him to say it first... I'm worried i might ruin our amazing relationship!!

There is no time limit of when you should say the three little words that means so much to either one of you. But before you do say those words; make sure you mean the words more than you think. You have to feel it and know it before saying the words that could change your life one way or another.
Now, if you know that you love him and feel it in your heart; you should tell him unless he showed you that he doesn't feel the same. You must take a chance at love and this could be one of many steps that could change your life.

Yes! Tell him how you feel. Expressing your emotions for someone is the best thing in a relationship you can do. Keep your feelings open and he in return should get the hint. He doesnt have to say I love you yet, keep that in mind. Dont get mad if he doesnt. When hubby and I were dating he said it first but I wasnt ready to say it. ( I was scared) So go with your heart and let it lead you. Good LUck!

have courage to hear even NO. accept the rejection if it comes your way. But do not hide and delay your feelings. May be you are late in conveying your love . and your boy friend may loose interest in you. why miss the bus. this is 21 century. go fast and get the result. and the age of Man proposes woman Blushes is gone. Now Lady Proposes and man either Blushes or Runs away.

If he puts you before friends he may really love you . sometimes it is hard to tell someone you love them when your shy but he said it first if you tell him you love him now it may not be as bad as you think and if he does not feel the same after you tell him then he was never mint to be with you. HE LOVES YOU looks like he is showing you in his own way.
There is a connection both being shy.

ul know when the time is right. before u say it, see if he would be comfortable with it. cos sometimes it scares the other party... u 2 seem to care about each other alot, so i dont think it'll ruin what u have. & besides he's said it to u thru txt..

If you guys are both shy wouldn't this be like a relif for both of you if you say it. If you say it chances are he's going to say it back since he has said it before.

well if you love your boyfriend there is no "maybe I'll tell him I love him later" just tell him your true feelings. oh and if you love him don't be shy you should be open with eachother and not hide your feelings.

there is not set amount of time-yet it is all about timing
the way to honor is in true friendship that leads to Marriage. Relationship with another is a gift from God, if you truely love someone you commit to them. I agree with "Makemeaspark" about guys that say they love and commit but wont marry, "The heart is decietful." Jeremiah, but it is not just the hurting ones that fall for believing a guy when he says he loves you, and lets be together. Sometimes you believe because you believe (in innocence) that truth and lies are obvious. And in your arrogance (or youth) you think you can tell the difference. You trust and are deceived, and there are those who are loyal even after the deception is revealed, out of duty, out of fear, out of a misguided loyalty...wow it still hurts. Sometimes they stay because they feel stupid and worthless and have no where else to turn. They feel like they deserve the punishment of being unloved, because they were untrue to their own moral compass, and unfaithfull to God. So they stay untill they are discarded. 3 Votes 43%
this helped me as raised a Jew to see the deaper truths to believe too=Christian means a follower of the Messiah-who came as a Jew- the believer in Jesus-has power over the mind to control their thoughts, thus when Jesus says to forgive and let Me handle it, or about lust is adultry against God, or hate is murder in the heart, we have the calling to cast down all imaginations that exault themselves against God which brings true peace and joy to our heart in all situations (Philippians 4:4-20).
My Jewish people believe in the comming of a Messiah, and his fulfillment is in Jesus. The laws of Judaism were given specifically to the Jewish people to be kept and to guide them to the promised Messiah.

The way I came to know him is by believing what he spoke to us from heaven (Revelation1:1 chapter 1 verse 1 & 3:19&20 "I love you and ask you to repent of your sins (even one lie) quickly. Behold I stand at your heart door and knock If you hear my word and open the door, I will come in and be your friend."
so I prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen."
Its all good and now as a Jew who has come to know Jesus is my Messiah, savior, and best friend giving me joy beyond words and power to live right. And someone said this for me telling them this too
