our intestines and stomach have chemical and other activities that decreases acid level like the hydrochloric acid in our stomach and gastric acid(cause of ulcer) so it wont burn your intestine not like those other things that doesn't have any counter measure like our digestive system but its important to eat first before you drink coke or soft drink and any other beverages and drink moderately everything has limits especially our body

I suppose coke could do some serious damage to your GI tract, however one would have to consume outragously absurd amounts of coke all day, every day for an extended period for this to happen.
I recall that in 6th grade I held a little science project where i left a brillo pad in a bowl of coke. The brillo pad completely disintegrated in about 2 weeks if i recall correctly, might have been 3 though it was a while ago after all. =)

Dozens of coke myths have been debunked over the years, and this is just yet another crazy addition. This one may be a little harder to prove false since I can't see too many people volunteering for this sort of thing. If you're curious to see what other urban legends there are related to coke also known as "Cokelore" just visit here:

Hmm... no ;))
Do you think if it was that dangerous people would be drinking it like this?! I know a person who drinks a lot...Nothing happened to him ;) If there was a possibility for coke to burn a hole ... they wouldn't be selling it to people...

When my kids were in school, they had an experiment in science class, where they put a tooth in a container of "coke", after awhile the "coke" desolved the tooth, dont know about your intestines, but if it does that to your teeth. who knows what it'll do to the rest of your body???

i'm sure if there was even a remote possibility of this happening, cola manufacturers around the world would put warnings on the can. things like "too much coke can make you choke" lol

I've heard the same thing...true or not...I'm not sure.
But I can tell you this...I use Coke to clean my copper kitchen pans to a lustrous shine. I suppose that itself would be enough to inform you that the acid levels are high.
