I am getting married Dec. 28th at 5:00 in the evening. I would really like to have the church lights dimmed and run the lights along the aisle and maybe candles lit in the windows.I am afraid that it would be too dark and people would not be able to see how pretty the dresses are. Has anyone been to a wedding like this before? Please help!!!

Perhaps consider softly lit floor lights along the aisle so the dresses are visible. Maybe even place the regular dimly lit lights anywhere you might want something to be clearly visible. This shouldn't interfere with the festiveness of the Christmas lights.

Do a test run first, don't assume anything. Go to the church and run the Christmas lights then dim the church lights, see if you can tell what people are wearing.

I think that's a great idea. They're pretty bright when you get enough of them together. You could also try rope lights, they're a little more expensive, but they are really bright. I have them hanging in my room which needs which needs five lights on at once without the rope lights. They're great as a lead in to the reception area or the ceremony place.

Having a trial run is a good idea . Consider extra lighting at the altar either candles or spot lighting.

To distinguish between Christmas and the wedding, I suggest using WHITE Christmas lights. And lots of them, it should create the light you need and a more sophisticated atmosphere!

Use white lights instead of colored lights. Maybe one small light at the alter area in the church where you will be married. Sounds fabulous to me.

this is your day and you should do whatever you want be it bright or dark!
If you are having a reception your guests will have a plenty of time to adore your wedding dress later on!

it's too dark.

just leave some light open and the twinkle lights will just be accents.

also, some churches might not allow you to put too much candles.

No I have not had a wedding like this before, but you might have to use real bright lights. Congatulations and I hope that your wedding is beautiful.

You seem to be more obsessed with fashion and attracting others with what you wear than your wedding! Interesting and intriguing!
