Its called "Adventures in Doggy Daycare"

I watched it a few times, but woman that owns the place made a really odd comment that soured me on the show. She said:
" If you aren't going to pamper your dog, why have them?"

I know "pampering" means something differant for everyone but you don't have to spend heaps of cash on your dog to love them.

What do you think?

Money is not the object- of course, she would have a different perspective, since it is her business. My Ripley gets groomed, vetcare, a nice bed, lots of affection- to me, I pamper her. It does not cost me very much, but I don't shop for diamond collars for her. I agree, pampering is not about the cash.
Her episode about the campout showed where her priorities are-- she allowed her dogs to disturb everyone.

I'm opening a pet resort - and from a selling point of view I agree w/ the woman. Since I"m selling a service I want to put a standarad on it. Just like cars: Luxary = BMW Sport = Mazda Rough = Ford you're not rough if you don't own a ford......

However as a dog owner I spoil my girls rotten and pamper them horribly. In my mind pampering my dogs (which are sporting breeds) is going camping, hiking, letting them swim, letting them run, play fetch, etc. Things I know they love to do. If my girls had a voice and I put them in a sweater they would curse me out!!!!!!

LOL. I can understand why the comment turned you off to the show, it would have done the same for me.

My dogs are spoiled rotten. They've never been in "doggie day care" because it's expensive and frankly I have a better setup than any commercial facility. I think a lot of times these "experts" somehow equate pampering with a lot of money. Your dog's favorite toy is YOU. They don't care how much money you spend.

I can see why you would be soured on this show.

Sure, love your dogs and take good care of them. And if your dog is a short-haired pooch, get him a little sweater to wear when it's cold. But this business of cute little outfits, while we might think they are cute, can't be much fun for the dog. Not to mention excessive pampering of dogs, just like in human children, can lead to behavior problems.

She is obviously selling something - services, merchandise, etc. and is attempting to put guilt on dog owners so that they spend money at her place.

The way to "pamper" your dog is to provide good food, neutering/spaying, vaccinating and vetting when needed, and loving and playing with him.
A dog doesn't care about designer outfits, just having enough food, being healthy, having a comfortable place to sleep, and getting plenty of your loving attention.

The rest is nonsense geared towards getting you to spend money on stuff your dog does not care about - they really aren't material the way people are.

Pamper!? Does that mean loving them or making them into children? I have lots of animals, I love them all,but aside from a fortune in food and the once a day goody, the only money they get is for the vet or the occasional film...

Never heard of the show. That sort of comment would have turned me off also. No, you do not have to PAMPER your pet! Pamper your children. Sounds to me like she is working to get people to buy, buy buy for their pets. I would take her like a grain of salt.

I just read the other comments: I so agree with Barbara.
