Never heard of it being looked at that way. Thought red was a power color. Methinks he's feeding a line of BS.

By its very nature, red is an attention grabbing colour. One of the reasons it commands our attention so much, especially in respects to clothing, is because so few people wear it and pull it off successfully!
I can understand how a leap is made between wearing red and being "up for it" because red is very passionate colour and it does seem to exude sexuality. I think of all the glamour & pin up girl icons who have taken the colour to its sexual peak. Then I also think of Anne of Green Gables and her red hair and there goes the sexy girl image.
As for being easy and desperate for attention, I would think nothing could be farther from the truth! It's a very dominating colour and must be worn with confidence! Red isn't easy; red is a challenge!
To further assure you that this one boy is nuts, this is an article that is about the duality of the colour red and its symbolism: http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2007/04/05/colour-symbolism/
Keep wearing that glorious colour with confidence and glamour!

I have always seen red as a power color and DEFINITELY attracts attention. Because red is my favorite color, I used to focus on women wearing red because I could relate to them as being bold enough to wear red and thus intelligent and mentally engaging as well as sexy and feminine. I've also come to realize that women who wear dark colors are equally intelligent and mentally engaging as well as sexy and feminine. So the red clothing is now more a sign of confidence & outgoing personality than anything else.
Wearing red has certain social & cultural limitations of course. You don't want to wear red to a wedding nor a funeral in fear of outshining the bride or being disrespectful to the deceased.

Just depends. It could mean that you are a Dahomey Queen
like my humble self. On the other hand if you wear red and
daring to a wedding there may be a litte ___ there. I think
your problem is with the guy who gave you the info. Labeling
women in the negative is an old controlling art. blow it off,,,,,,

If it a low cut, show the cleavage and the navel kind of shirt, it wouldn't matter what color it is, that is gagging for attention. I think he wanted an excuse to talk to you and that is the only thing he could think of at the time..... Pretty sorry!

I dont think that at all. I think the color red shows courage and self confidence. Plus its a sexy color. If you can pull it off wear it and dont care what anyone has to say about it!
