which is better... storage shed from lowes or home depot?

i guess i'm looking for better quality regardless of price.

Personally speaking, neither. They have to compete with each other and use a lot of composite and compressed materials which breakdown and begin rotting after getting wet long before a solid wood unit will. You will not really pay that much more, but in the long term, you should go to a local builder of all wood sheds. Plus, if you have issues with the unit and you go back to the big box stores, they will just smirk. With a local company you'll get better service.

Have to tell you, I'm not a big fan of sheds! They can be a terrible eye soar for neighbors. The back side of the shed is often a place to hide unwanted items that others have to see! However, if you do it right, they can be somewhat attractive. Avoid a tin shed. Construct a shed with the same siding of your home. If the home is brick, add brick to the shed, if your siding is beige, go with the same beige color for the shed. You want it to blend into the exterior of your home. You don't want it to stand out like a soar thumb. Create some beautiful landscaping around the shed, and pretty soon you'll have a beautiful addition and storage to your home/yard.

Depends on what you are looking for. Do you want someone to bring all the materials and build it for you? Then go with HD they sell TuffShed which are hard to beat. If you want to build it yourself, then I either would have quality prepackaged sheds.

Why not build it from scratch though, that way you know what you are putting into it, you don't have to rely on a kid in a factory 1,000 miles away to care about what kind of 2x4 you are going to get. When I priced out building my own from scratch or a packaged one, the built from scratch was only about $50 dollars more and the materials were of a high quality.

I think both stores have equal quality, but Lowes is way more expensive. I'd go Home Depot.
