I'd believe you, but maybe they don't believe you because of the type of person you are. Like for instance, if you're a pretty boy that tends to get a lot of girls, and you told someone that you didn't have a girlfriend, of coarse they'd be in shock. I hang out with just guys at school, and they're the popular ones, and when I tell people that I don't have a boyfriend, they're like in a state of shock and disbelief.

Sad to say, some women think that way because of their life experiences.
Some men (and women) have no problem with denying that they have a partner when in fact they do. And because of it people are leery when someone says that they don't have a gf / bf.

I would believe if it you told me. Of course, if I had seen you making out with someone the night before at a party, I might question your sincerity.

well most girls wouldnt but uh...maybe the girl was just flirting and was like of course you do, meaning to like compliment you like--- "ohhh someone like you HAS to have a girlfriend!"

well then i answer now, because its really strange that a guy doesn't have g.f now, because now every guy have a g.f, so girls won't trust boys that they don't have any g.f, and most of the boys are in relationship.So its really hard to trust a guy so girls think they are lying'

well you're probably so good looking that they cant believe no one else has noticed and are your gf. . . haha. i believe guys when they say they dont have a gf, but im a very relaxed, trusting (some say nieve) person so idk
