Doctors like to calculate your weight to height ratio to determine if you are within a healthy weight range. This is called your Body Mass Index (BMI)

The formula to calculate your BMI is:

BMI = 703x (weight in pounds/Height in inches squared)

A BMI less than 18.5 is underweight 18.5-24.9 is perfect 25-29 is overweight & 30 or more is obease.

Your BMI is 17.2 so you are underweight.

There is a BMI calculator at;

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

We all come in different shapes and sizes. If you feel healthy and energetic and you take care of your body and eat well, than I wouldnt worry too much about your result. If you do feel concerned have a chat with your family doctor :-)

You are fine. Remember when calculating your BMI you need to use a kid's or teens calculator. It gives more leeway because you are a growing young girl and you will gain weight easier when you are older. You sound a little on the thin side, but that is normal for 7th grade. Dont worry about it, I'm sure tons of your friends would kill for a body like you.

Hello.

You should weigh no more than 120 lbs.
So you are fine.
You may e a little extra skinny, but don't worry,
the weight will come on as you progress through puberty.

Good luck and do not worry too much about your body.
Just stay healthy and you'll be great!!

Rule of thumb:
100lbs at 5'0''
and 5lbs more for every inch.

=)

Don't worry about it. As you grow, your physical characterisitcs will continually change. If you are not obese, it's no big deal. Genetics are responsible for the changes and when they occur. My two children were underweight until around age 20 and 21 when they grew taller(6'3" and 6'2") and heavier. My wife is 5'8"and weighs 128 lbs. As you get older, this will be a blessing in disguise because as others are getting fat, you won't have to worry about it.

Yes.

Do your best to eat healthy foods and excercise regulary and you will be fine.

Going on fad diets at your age would not be wise.

You can follow a few simple rules though.

Stay away from white bread, white rice, white sugar.

Avoid high fat greasy foods, avoid processed foods, especially avoide anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Choose whole grains and vegatables and lean meat when possible.

Limit the use of diet drinks and caffinated beverages and junk food.

Drink skim or lowfat milk. I prefer 1% chocolate myself. ;0)

DO NOT give up treats...just make them a special occasion instead of a routine.

Follow these rules and you'll be just fine.

Smile and be kind to others. Read intresting things, watch intelligent TV shows, strive to do well in school. Dress neatly, and appropriately. All these things will get you further in life than being a size 2 with perky boobs etc.

Honestly, that seems very light for a girl at that height. I think you should make an effort to gain some more weight.

If 5'4" turns out to be your final "adult" height, you should ideal weigh about 120-125 pounds.
