"Not all floaty in clouds like on tv...." -- Had a good laugh over this line. Thanks.
To answer your question, God can, by definition, do anything God wants to do.
All the more reason to be nice to other people....

If He didn't create a body like Jesus what, pray tell, is He going to walk around in? He has enmorphed, according to Scripture, a number of times.
He appeared to Moses as a man. He appeared to Abraham as a man and as the High Priest after the battle of the kings. There are more if you can hear (read) them.
The church prayed for Paul to be released from prison? Rhoda said he was at the door. They said perhaps it is his angel? It is also written that "many have entertained angels unawares." All speaking to a theophany body which I myself have.
At Pentecost he began the process of cloning himself in many bodies; but the weeds grow up with the wheat. That is to say the true are hidden among the false. God enmorphed in his elect. Many have met him unawares.
Entertaining the form of man and becoming a man were and are two different things. Becoming the first of many brethren was a one time event; and the beginning of the creation of a new cosmos.
So not only are their brothers and sisters in Christ but those who have received His spirit are literally in the process of manifesting God in their flesh. He has done this work and is present hidden in many vessels of clay. Think about it, and the Lord give you eyes to see and ears to hear.

In addition to the comments that Christ was God (as is indicated in the Gospel John 1:1-4) the book of Genesis 3:8-9, "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
Note the phrase "walking in the garden" clearly indicates that God, Himself has been to earth in the form of common people.

If you are presently referring to God the Father; he has and it is recorded in scriptures. On Earth years ago, He was referred to as Melchisadek. See traits described in Hebrews 7:3.

Mormons believe He has. God and Jesus appeared before Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820.

A figment of people's imagination can't do anything.
Wahahahaa..... Jesus was god in the flesh?.... so when Jesus was on the cross why didn't he say "oh me, why did I forsake me?" If Jesus was god in the flesh then he committed suicide on the cross didn't he?
How about this one... "Abba, me, all things are possible unto me; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what me wilt."
I guess god had multiple personality disorder?

As previously mentioned, God can do anything He wants to do.In Hebrews Chapter 13: 1-2 It says "to be good to strangers for many have entertained angels unaware." So God does send His Angels to earth, in His place, for whatever reason He desires.

Now that I would like to see. Those who say he already did must be referring to the time that he was hanging out with Jack and his beanstalk before they met up with Snow White for a 3 way.

Hmm, I always find questions amusing when they start with "Is God able..."
If he isn't then he might not be a god.
