Depends on what his CD player in his car will support. If the CD player was a second install, like it didnt come with the car, and was installed maybe less than 3 years ago, and wasnt the cheapest out there...it may be able to play mp3 CDs.

The easiest way is to just check his CD player. Call him up and ask him to look at the front panel and see if it says "MP3" on it. If it says that, it should play. Or just ask him to look at the manual. It should be on the cover.

And if you just need a quick burn, and don't have time for any checking or like that, just burn a normal CD that will fit about 14 songs. Its a pretty sure bet that it will play it any CD player this way.

Generally, if it says "MP3" on the radio, it can play MP3s. If not, it's most likely a standard CD player. If you're in a hurry, go ahead and burn a standard audio CD....check your radio's manual for the best answer.

Most new after-market decks can play MP-3 encoded CDs, but with factory radios it's still hit and miss. If you're not sure, then you're better off recording your disk in CD-audio format.
