Do you tazers are a good way for police/military to subdue a suspect? They're considered less-lethal because they do kill some people with heart conditions. I personally think there a good tactic but i dont think they should be abused or used just because someone doesnt get down on there knees the exact minute the cop tells them to. I own a 950,000 volt stun gun that i had my friend use on me because i wanted to know how it felt before i used it on someone else for personal defence (im an EMT and i run into guys that are high and dangerious constantly) and im a pretty strong guy but it brought me to my knees in 4 secounds and i couldent stand up for awhile.

Hammer- First aval i said STUN GUN a stungun is a handheld tazer that does NOT shoot a probe, You touch it to the assialiants skin. And they come up to 1 million volts. So why dont you learn about what your talking about before you run your big mouth.

They need to be viewed as lethal. Every time a law enforcement officer users one, he needs to be prepared to be killing the subject. Then, they are fine. They are lethal, to a small sample of the population.

You're lying about most of what you say. TASER brand weapons are only 50,000 volts at law enforcement strength, and around 10,000 volts at civilian strength, so you don't own a 950,000 volt weapon. Second, it works almost instantaneously, and certainly doesn't take anywhere near four seconds to work. Third, I know many, many EMT's and paramedics, and none carry weapons. I'm not even sure they're allowed to. Fourth, there isn't ONE proven case, in all the multitudes of times TASER's have been used, of the TASER being the cause of death. Most often, it's the subject's heavy drug use that is ultimately the cause of death. Fifth, once the TASER charge is over, the pain and effects are over, they're not lasting, other than as a very intense memory. You and your question are bogus.

Iv'e heard of cases where people buy tasers for their children! LOL
OK, not really funny but I had to giggle.
If the suspect has the choice of being shot with a gun, or a taser, I would think he would opt for the taser. Hurts? Oh well, shouldn't be doing the crime anyways.
Then again, gunshots mean there's no need to waste time with some nasty trial. Instant justice for all.

If I ran into someone that was dangerious Id want to stop them too:-P

Seriously though. If they have a heart condition, they shouldn't be confrontative with a cop. It's not like the normal procedure for a cop is, "get on your kn," and before the ees come out he fires.

I am sick of this stupidity. Tazers can, in some cases, kill. Guns do kill and police shoot to kill. Tazers should always.be used if the suspect does not have a gun.

Police prefer killing as it is safer and it is much more macho to carry a gun.

Doubtless the police lobby will have a go at me for suggesting that tazers are a humane option. This is because they like shooting people. It is so easy.

I thnk you answered your own question when you state that you run into guys that are high and dangerous all the time.

The taser is a pretty effective way of subduing someone, and to be frank about it people who aren't obeying the police probably deserve to get tasered.

It's better than shooting them, which can be much more lethal. My husband works in Corrections and it certainly is a better option, not to mention safer for anyone else in the area.

Cops have been known to use tazers, mazes and anything they have when there was no reason to use those weapons, for mere abuse of power.

Google a search sometime to see all the evidence on video that comes up...

I do believe you need to return to school because you missed something. First, Tasers do NOT kill people. There have been 52 civil suits filed against Taser and not ONE have been successful. (www.taser.com) Please feel free to provide me any FACT that a taser will kill you. Yes, I have been shot with a taser. It was part of my training to carry it. Please feel free to come up with a better means of force for us mean cops that thank God for tasers. Would you rather me pepper spray them? That 'll hurt them for a few hours or days if they are wearing contacts not to mention effecting the EMTs that may have to handle the guy. Should I just "man-handle" them? Maybe just shoot them all? What's you suggestion?
