Its called manners. You can do it but do it in the toilet or excuse yourself when you do it. Since you asked such a loser question I presume you must be one hell of a loser too!

All have to say is that I am ashamed to be the same species as those that say that its because women have class or that its disrespectful. It is both a natural and healthy bodily function (if you didn't your intestines would rupture). As for the sound or the smell, unless you do it on purpose its not controllable, neither is the time or place. If you do you just say excuse me and it should be all done, but truth be told women are immature about it because they have to make something the average human does 8 times a day into a big deal.

Its called a courtesy sniff, when other guys are around they have made a courtesy sniff, now the guy that farted owes the other guy a courtesy sniff, either the fart smell, or something out of the garbage can or whatever

It is considered a 'social no-no'.
if in churh excuse yourself or a public place (resturant) try and excuse yourself.
But be real people, many times it's out before you know it, and have no control on holding it in.
It's a natural body function, though not a nice one.
When my hubby does this, i just say 'piggy but' to him.
It's no big deal.
