If your mare is in season, she can hang out at watering holes and the stallions will find her soon enough. If she doesn't kick, bite and takes reasonably nice care of her mane, tail and hoofs, they will find her to be pleasant company and her lonliness should be alleviated. Having a nice flashy saddle or horse blanket can't hurt, and it would help if she had a nice clean box stall to share on occasion. Your mare should be cautious, though, since there are many stallions looking for a quick sperm donation who will move on to the next mare in heat.

There are also horse magazines and web sites that may be helpful (your question may elicit responses from stallion owners, or at least horse lovers). Other horse owners are excellent resources of referrals. If all else fails, your mare should spend a lot of time getting exercise and playing in the fields with other mares. She may find that good works and other activities, such as helping with riding for the handicapped, will fill her days so that she isn't as lonely, and these activities may lead to someone with a good stallion-referral or even to the perfect stallion.

Wishing your mare lots of apples, carrots and sugar cubes (or a box of brown sugar mini-wheats!).
