It was probably a greek appetizer.
The word "mezes" that you mentioned means appetizer. Onasis was one great and really reach businessman in Greece that has married jackie Kennedy... well probably you know him.
So "Onasis meze", is just an appetizer that Onasis might love so they name it after him.
I dont know exactly what kind of appetizer this is maybe its a kind of saganaki(fried cheese, where they put bacon, mushrooms, sometimes even schrimps.).
Maybe you will find more information in the following link:

Probably saganaki with bacon and mushrooms added.

Saganaki (Greek σαγανάκι) is a salty and aromatic cheese-based Greek appetizer of fried or broiled cheese.

The cheese used is usually Kefalograviera, Kasseri, or sheep milk Feta cheese. Regional variations include the use of Formaella cheese in Arachova and Halloumi cheese in Cyprus.

Fried cheese (saganaki) with potatoes and mushrooms

Ingredients:
4 potatoes
250 gr mushrooms
1 dry onion
100 gr bacon
fresh rosemary
100 gr mild flavored graviera cheese (Greek type of gruyere made of sheep's milk)
400 ml milk cream
salt, pepper
50 gr fresh butter
olive oil
fresh parsley finely chopped

Instructions:
Finely slice the potatoes, sprinkle with salt and pepper and slightly sauté with butter and rosemary. Strain on kitchen paper.

In another pan, sauté the finely chopped onion and the bacon with some olive oil and stir until the onion softens well. Butter a baking pan or 4 smaller ovenproof ones and place the potatoes all over. Spread the bacon and onion mixture over the potatoes.

Pour the milk cream and finally spread the grated cheese on. Bake over medium temperature (170° C/ 340° F) for about 20 minutes and garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley.
