Remember that prayer is actually an open phone line which allows you to talk to God (the creator of the universe) whenever you want to. I do not think it is just to live a better life, but to help us get through life. I pray everyday, and not just on my knees before bed or before a meal, I pray while I'm driving or even just walking down the street. When my husband is on deployment I pray for strength and when he calls or comes home I pray thanking God for giving that wonderful man to me. Prayer is even better then Yahoo answers! Why would you have a tool that could make life easier and never use it. Hope this helps and I'll pray you understand what I'm saying.

I guess so.. Because when we are praying we are consciously learning to be humble by glorifying
god's greatness, to submit ourselves to god's great love, to be thankful of the blessings we have received, to ask for forgiveness that we have sinned and to forgive at the same time, to love others by mentioning them in our prayer, to believe in our hopes.
That way I believe I live a better life by having hopes, love, compassion, and something that we believe and by being less self-centered.
I don't know about praying on 'very correct' time, because I can pray at anytime during my ups and downs. I believe it is what you are praying for and how not necesarily when. Perhaps it's the 'rule' in your religion. It's good too to pray regularly in certain times, it makes it like a good habit.
All the best..

Prayer is meditation with God. If you are a believer then this is your conversation with God and anytime you are reflective about your life, you will live a better life.
When you pray doesn't matter at all, God is always listening.

I don't believe that it's important to pray, if you don't realy feel like it and enjoy it. That's what praying is all about. Talking to God because you really want to.
However, I believe that the most important thing is to help others and bring happiness into their lives. Remember: if God exists and he can hear you when you pray, then he can also see you whenever he wants to. So if you are good, he will love you. And if you also pray sometimes, he will be happy to hear you. That's what I think.

a lot of people have said this, there is probably something to it. but i only pray when i want to thank God for something, like i did every day after my child was born(until she hit terrible 2's at 1year old) then i prayed for patience. and i pray when I hear of something really bad, like 911 or when a parent kills their own child I ask god to take their souls and keep them safe. I don't like to ask for things for myself because i don't think I deserve to because I don't do much for God and Jesus, such as observe holy days or go to church and i swear too much. but where i live bad things happen to babies alot and i can't stand it. one mother left her 18 month old baby upstairs in a 95 degree apartment for hours and the child died of dehydration. the stupid women said "i thought she was sleeping" the report showed the baby had not had anything to drink in over 18 hours and there were dog feces all over the house, how can someone do that to a baby??? and one woman a couple years ago slammed her baby's head(again 18 months old) on a sidewalk until she died because she wouldn't stop crying. i hate hearing these things it upsets me so much, so I pray for them and other children whose fu@ked up parents aren't taking care of them. what a fuc#ing world.

Your father is right, since prayer can alter the very fabric of the reality which you experience. Connect yourself to the Creator, through prayer in Jesus of Nazareth's name, and meaning to your life will begin to unfold.

Depending on what your religion is...but the God I serve that gave His only son Jesus...you can pray to Him anytime, and He will always be there...prayer does change things...that lets God know that you have faith in who He is to help you in whatever situation you are in. Only thing is you have to have faith to please God. If you trust and believe in God and that He will answer your prayers, without seeing Him do it, but knowing He's going to, then prayer becomes the best gift that God has given us, because you will see things start to come to past that you asked God for...God Bless!

It's really a matter of opinion and personal beliefs. I'm atheist, so I would say it's not important at all, but people with religion would obviously say different. Just do whatever makes you feel best.

Prayer is good to help people have faith that things will turn out the way that they would like for them to turn out. It doesn't always work that way, but it helps them have confidence the God is on their side.

prayer is a belief. you have to believe in something. God will not "dis" you for not talking with him everyday. He is just glad to hear from you.
