My immediate family is very close. I speak with my sister and brother almost everyday and with my mother every other day. My father passed away. I live about 1300 miles from them but see them and their children quite often. I think it is how you were raised that makes you close. I left for a job and happened to like where I moved to, so I stayed.

My g/f and I have 4 adult children, a son in law and a granddaughter between us and we are part of their everyday lives and very close. She babysits the grandbaby as well. She is probably closer to her sister and parents but they live far away, and while my sisters, brothers and parents live here, I have never been close to them. My mother is manipulative and argumentative and lives for starting drama and I just don't participate. Our extended family is our group of friends and we are very close with them.

My family is great.The only problem are my grandma and my grandpa(from my father's side,his parents to be exact) who are so mean!You can't imagine how mean they are!For example I am 20 and they still want my parents to get a divorce because they can't stand my mother!My mom is a great person and even though she is nice to them and did many things for them they don't want her.Everytime I went to their house (I don't anymore) they were talking about my mom and telling me what kind of person she is and as it is obviously they were blaming her for everything that went wrong to their family!I was and am so sick of them that I hate them with all my heart!!

Yes, My family relation is strong and tight. We never get angry. My mother is very patient, Brother is soft spoken, Father has belief in spiritual life. So its very peaceful atmosphere at home.

Both of my families are like that, except my dad's side of the family I hardly ever see and my mom's side puts too much thought into the past and is secluded in one area. I dread both family reunions when I have to go to them.
