You hit the nail on the head buddy!
I’ve never understood how God could expect his creatures to pick the one true religion by faith – it strikes me as a sloppy way to run a universe.
— Robert A. Heinlein
What I'm saying is, if God wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only way he could think
of doing it, he could have done a better job.

No. maximum Christians knows the basics of the Bible, yet a lot of human beings have by no ability study it. I incredibly have not as quickly as picked up an entire Christian Bible, and study it front to back. As i'm in a perplexing point of my own religious ideals, i'd evaluate the Bible to be a large artwork of literature if I determine to bypass the two religious or non-religious. in basic terms on the grounds which you're no longer a Christian does not provide you the inducement to no longer understand some thing as large via fact the Bible, even no count if it incredibly is in basic terms a made-up tale. shop in mind that diverse Christians are youthful infants that have not yet mastered the skill to study. Many young ones in basic terms hear to their mothers and dads, as would in many circumstances be the case, and study from Mass and Sunday college for what's stable and what's incorrect. there are various infant's variations of Bibles in spite of the incontrovertible fact that they particularly do no longer comprise each and every little thing that the whole text fabric does.

A lot of christians don't read their bible at all. Most have it interpreted by their preacher. That's the purpose of church on Sundays. Most of these preachers distribute their own edited versions of the bible to the followers, that accounts for a great deal of the confusion. All preachers interpret the scriptures the way they want and how they see fit.
A great deal of christians take the preacher's word as the official last word and no matter how much anyone points out anything to them that is inconsistent, most of them will never listen. They enjoy being in dark and following blindly.
What really gets me is the fact that every other book has an exact volume number as well as how many editions exist. The bible is the only book that I would think that can be edited and not have to be accounted for in the library of congress so we can all be on the same page. Sounds fishy to me.

No, Armageddon will not be a real war. It's a spiritual battle maybe already raging. The book of Revelations is the only book that is almost totally spiritual and symbolic. The horses represent the stages of the church, the flames represent angels, the incense represents prayers, and so on. I see why you misunderstood though.

I think we try our best to read our Bibles. The Word of God is living and powerful. Many people can read one verse and get something completely different out of it. If your question is why? I don't know. Perhaps because we're all at different levels in our Christian walk. I believe most of us DO know that a final battle is coming-"Those who have ears, let them hear." It's sad but our belief says that those who deny Christ won't be saved. I think there will be plenty of Christians who will have to fight in this battle and who will die horrible deaths...but mature Christians know what lies ahead and are not afraid. I appreciate that you feel you are "teaching" us. What you are really doing is giving us an opportunity to again be a witness for Christ. Thank you for reading our Bible. I know it has done some good in your life.

I've always been very suspicious of those Americans who claim to "read" the Bible.
Americans are famously unable to read and write even simple English-how could they possibly understand the florid prose and "archaic" English of the Bible? I have to read and re-read it, and I'm considered literate for an American.
How did it become to pervasively misunderstood? That's easy. It has had to accommodate modern western and middle eastern political thought, dooming it from the beginning to be little more than beautiful fiction that has elicited as much bloodshed and suffering as it has enlightenment.

It's a matter of interpetation... just as you have interpreted it as foolishness and believe that there is no God.
I also find it amusing that you are so stuck on the subject of Armageddon, seeing how you profess to be an atheist.
You inflate your own ego with your pseudo intelligence, when in reality you are nothing more than a hatemonger, as evident in your questions.

Well in the interests of terminological exactitude, of course they can't all be reading the SAME bible; same version, same printing etc would be ok.
As for sitting down with the bible and noting all the contradictions, illogicalities, weird old testament laws, dreadful inhumanity etc - no, very few christians do.
