According to Buddhism, I think it's part of the problem.

The Buddha often spoke of the bad results (long term) of indulging in 'sexual misconduct' (sex outside marriage).

I think this has to do with the sensibilities of the 'protectors' of the girl (parents, brothers, etc).

Marriage (or maybe a committed relationship) is seen as less of a bad thing.

For monks (Bhikkhus) Brahmacariyaa is seen as the highest way of conduct, I think.

They get a good perspective on things from a kind of higher than average vantage point, and can help others to see from it, too.

Laymen have attained Enlightenment, but it requires a lot of effort, wisdom & the luck that comes from it, I think.

Sexuality, just is. It is what we are. We naturally want to express that through a sex. We have placed all the rules and definitions around it that have caused monumental damage.

Understanding this, it is not presently open as a spiritual path. More for looking to pair up. A few on this planet have the liberty of using it in it's pure form, (but I'd hazard a guess that they can't manage pure thought that surrounds the original intent. Unless you live in a cave) But most do not. and I'd be glad to be wrong here.

Now in regards to sexuality. I personally feel that this has to be faced in all of us. That it is what we are, and not separate. I was closed and now I am open. Along with that is a liberated sexual energy that to shut down now, ties right in with death. To which case, evolves right back into the circle.

So, it stays. Becomes a part of all the other human expressions that are open to us and honored. It is deeply tied to our freedom.
Isn't this what the symbol of the lotus blossom is about. It just came to me, as I was sitting here because I was thinking about the nature of sexuality and how it seems to bloom and mature in us as we master the control of self.

OM Tat Sat,

Animals have sex, and form my knowledge and study, they also enjoy. In Vedic religion, sex is not a sin, but just a way of enjoyment, that makes things difficult in spiritual life, hence we are told to restrain form it. As it makes us want to live more and more in this temporary world.

We have power to ask why, and also genetically we have power to build programs dynamically and adopt them for a particular task. but this is not possible with animals to the extent we can do, and some animals like fishes etc don't have this algorithm devising mechanism. So we need to am\\make use of this higher intelligence god has given us to attain a closer relation to him, rather than trying to enjoy sex and remain attached to this jail.

The sacrifice of desires are the most powerful sacrifices human can do afterall.

Animals have no soul, they do not enjoy sex. They just do a natural thing as God commanded, be fruitful and multiply. We humans are to enjoy sex as a married man. Read 1 Corinthians chapter 7, verses 1-16.

Sex is not bad or disgusting. It is normal human nature. Humans must not be addicted to sex. Thats all. For a nomal human being it is enough if one is not addicted to it, that is, he must not give over importance to sex. It should not come in the way of praying god or performing spiritual deeds.

However for a completely spiritual man who wants to realize God it is definitely a DISTRACTION.

You ask a very good question. Unfortunately there's a wide range of complexity on where the Church stands on sex...

God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."
— Genesis 1:22

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
— Matthew 5:28

but it also tells us:

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.
— Ezekiel 23:20

I don’t believe there is total sexual satisfaction outside Jesus Christ.
— Billy Graham

Of the delights of this world, man cares most for sexual intercourse, yet he has left it out of his heaven.
— Mark Twain

Sex is one of he needs of he body that nature has devised for the particular pupose of procreation. it is provided as a bodily need just as hunger, thirst etc . It is also devised to occur at the particular age that is fit for procreation..
the animals lnow their limits in evrything .Once a prticular need is satisied they do not think about it .it is so in all hier behaviour like eating , drining and havine sex etc .You can see this from thier behaviour .Just leave a bull or sheep in a meadow lush with fine grass . the animalk eats to its contenment and leaves the fiels without bothering about the rest of the grass . Just leave a man in a garden full of fruits .the man will n0ot perhaps eat what he / his hunger needs .He will plucik the whole lot and take them to his house or bring some people from his hoime pluck the whole lot and take them hom for eating for as many days as they might last or mugh think of selling them and making money.Just leave himn ion a treasury whrefron he can tke some money for hs needs without being questioned . He will empty the treasure and willnot think of the others .Thpough the animals do nt think of others , it will not aspire for moer than its need at the particular time and leagve the rest .whether if is fo the opehrs or noot .but man gathers them in full far beyond his need for the particular time or moment .He becomes the slave of his senses .His senses are so strong that they overtake him. thre may e some few exceptiones and such people would be one
in millions .
The same chatracter , that is having for himself andenjoying for ever is oertakes him ion th emater of sex also .he does nt even care to see if the womwn he has sex with , likes or enjoys it or not . He does not do it at the time the female is ready and willing for it . \but he does it at anuy time and eerytime he thinks that he should .thi sis he differnce between man and animal.. so nateur has created this devise as an intense feeling at a particular satage of he development iof the species . Animals enjoy it as you can see it from the fact that all males foight till death for sex and the fmale species also go about seeking for males .
The feeling is a devise that natuer has devised to enable the continuation and increase in the species.man mis uses it ,
There is nothing irreligious in this .but it should be coform to the codes of behaviour common to all in a society .
In the Hindu religion the abstnence f a man from this and adoption of Brahmachariam , is respected as tit involves controling the physical urge created by the senses that are very strong in nature . Hinduism treats legal sex as a divine and sacred ritual and so has prescribed some norms for having sex with one's spouse under specific asterism so that tthe spouse might procreate good children with excellent character and intelligence . So real celebacy is highly respected as the man controls his senses and does not yield to them and keeps them under perfect control.

It is God's plan, good computer engineer. Sex impulse is given to create spiritual offings & not for sense gratification.PROTOPLASAM is different in animals & in our body.Inner self control is needed.Couples must cooperate to invite a sacred soul into the sperm & ovum. So invite good souls into your family. Incidentaly marriage is for material union & actualy it is spiritual .Husband +wife ===Nature +Spirit. Mind is powerful than body.Over-indulgence in anything--sex,eat, overwrk,sleep--fast way to sick & death
