You are right. Even the American Indians were descended from those who came across the Bering Strait looking for a better life.

This isn't a bash but it might be a history lesson. There were numerous fights between the Native Americans and European settlers. I'm not going to tell you the settlers played by Native rules, or even fairly, but given the reliability of firearms of the time as opposed to arrows, its actually may have been pretty even. In any event, the Native American lost. When one group loses another wins. In some cases, the land was sold, in others taken. That happens the world over since history has been recorded.
In order to be illegal, there would have to be laws in place to disobey and therefore become illegal. There weren't immigration laws or quotas until 1882, with the Oriental Exclusion Law becoming the first to limit a specific group in 1917. Various other laws came into being later restriction various groups and behaviors too. Including being able to read and write in at least one language. The long lines at Ellis Island indicate that during many of the migrations from Europe everyone was checked for disease and some were returned to their homelands, no matter how inhospitable those lands may have been for them due to political instablility or famines.
Every country has standards for permanent entry, some of them quite steep, sometimes you have to have a bank balance of $100,000 dollars or show that you have a degree and the ability to make money. Very few countries have not only taken in the less fortunate, but actually allowed them to become full citizens. All countries become more protective of its citizens when jobs are tight, that was the reason for the Oriental Exclusion law and it remains an active reason to limit entry to this day. Mexican labor in this country is given far worse wages and conditions than American citizens. The people in charge say only Mexican will work this way, but thats only because they are afraid to be deported if they complain. Business benefits from this discrepancy, thats why Bush will not do anything about it. The ideal situation would be to improve the wages and conditions so no one would not want the jobs, but that would cost money from the executive pocket, and that wouldn't go over with them too well.
Its good jobs with decent pay that are going away here for the average man/woman, it used to be a high school education and hard work meant something, a life in a factory, with union benefits and health care and a pension. But those jobs are few a far between now and having a built in lower class that will take whatever lower tier jobs are available without any of that is cheaper than having businesses be responsible towards its workers.
Hope this help you a little to understand where and why things are as they are in this country.

Sure, we're all illegal immigrants as well. Technically, we're not...but a bunch of generations ago...they were. I do believe that we should kick all illegal immigrants out of the U.S. The ones who take the extra steps to become a citizen are the ones that should stay. Learn our language and speak yours in the privacy of your own home, Start working towards your citizenship so you can become a productive member of American society (although, not ALL Americans are productive members of society!).

To add to justagrandma's history lesson, some of the Immigrants of the time were actually friendly with and fought for the rights of the Native Americans of the times. My ancestors on my mothers side were amongst them. Others didn't arrive until long after all was said and done, my ancestors on my fathers side were amongst those.
And no one today can change what happened 130 years ago. Even those who's ancestors did those things are not guilty... The sins of the father do not belong to the child.

First of all if you honestly believe that we "STOLE" this country then it really doesnt matter what anyone says to the contrary. You have already decided that America is wrong, and most of the people here are descendants of theives and murderers. I am not sure what you are trying to do with this question, or even if you care if anyone answers it. However I will answer it, and then I will state a few comparisons to your position and hopefully it will ring a bell of reason within you. My answer to your question is ".......because most American are NOT illegal immigrants." For the record large swaths of this country were purchased with hard, cold cash, from people who "stole" the land before we ever got here. Including the entirety of Alaska, a good portion of the southwest, and other areas. Perfectly legal and binding purchases. If what you are referring to is the displacement of the Indians, it remains a weak argument because if you think the US is the only country on Earth to have displaced natives to any significant degree then I would encourage you to read a few history books. What about the indians in Mexico, in canada, in Australia, eskimos in Russia and Canada, gypsies and nomads in the middle east. indigenous peoples of the far east and Central America. There have been entire civilizations wiped out by countries in Europe, yet no one accuses them of thievery. If winning a conflict over territory is analogous to thievery, then our winning WW 2 was the same as "stealing" the land from Hitler. If Hitler had won, he would have had "stolen" the land from Europe, and on and on it goes. It is interesting that no one ever mentions the fact that indians in the US before and during the time we were colonizing the land were routinely "stealing" land from each other. They were often at war with each other more than they were us. You show me a country that wasnt founded and maintained directly or indirectly by the application of some kind of military force, and I will show you a country that doesnt have anything in it worth going to war for. I am rather tired of people like you holding the modern age responsible for the transgressions of people long dead and buried. You are being just as unfair and arrogant as you claim us "thieving, lying, Americans" are. I would recommend that you find a different more applicable "axe" to grind here, as this ship isnt going to hold much water for you I am afraid. Good Luck.

Yes you are right & thats the true. This land belong to the Native Americans. The true Americans are the Indians. The white Americans they are also immigrants too because, the British they brought them here in North America. The one thing that I do not like the US is taking other country lands that does not belongs to them or policing around the globe. We all have to face the fact & just like Jack Nicolsen says" YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"!

Our ANCESTORS did it and I have no apologies for them doing what they did hundreds of years ago. It's history and they did it legally. My great great grandparents came here, on a boat in 1879 and 1901, with their papers, settled in Michigan and New York, they bought their land and paid the taxes to the British, then came the Tea Party. Americia won its independance from the Queen and became its own free country. Then they paid their taxes WILLINGLY to the US government. When an illegal mexi immigrant does this, I'll probably crap myself. I have no apologies for things THAT I DIDN'T DO.

OK let them stay then just take away all the benefits that US tax payers give them like education medical treatment all social assistance programs and fine and imprison anyone that hires them. They can fight for things just like everyone else has instead of getting a free ride.Knowing most of the illegals that I see they are to lazy to and will probably just crawl back to where they came from.
