I have heard of the 7/75 rule. But I have not tried it (give about another three years, but I have heard it works.
For 7 days, do not allow the boy to wear diapers--at any time!
He will go whereever he chooses.
Supposedly, children do not like having their legs coated with anything. Somehow, it takes no more than seven days---and a good resolve from you---for the child to start believing the potty is a better place for the pee and poo..
The 75 comes when you spend $75 dollars to clean the carpet(s).
I understand it works!

Are you having him use a potty chair or the regular toilet? My son refused to use a potty chair at all. We put cheerios/fruit loops in the potty and made a game out of it for him letting him stand and aim at the cereal and trying to have him push the cereal from 1 side of the toilet to the other with his pee. He "trained" in about 3 hours. Also take all diapers and pull ups from him during the day either let him run around naked from the waist down or in undies and pants/shorts that are easy for him to pull down on his own. When he actually goes make a really big deal about it! High 5 him and cheer like crazy he'll love and feel good about himself!
Good luck!

Make it fun, take diapers away, bribing always helps if it is something he likes - such as trucks ect. My grandson had stars put on the toilet, on where to aim. as for number two. He now goes all by himself.
But the big thing is, take diapers away, let him chose his own unders such as with the cartoons he likes, and only put unders on during the day and never pullups.
It also helps if one bathroom is on the floor he mostly is on rather then having to travel to it.
My grandson was trained by 2, and at 2.5 he was fully trained during the night. He does't like to be wet..
Since he does this all himself, this has started my granddaughter off early, she is 1.5 years old and already knows when wet, and gets her own diapers when she goes to change, she asks for toilet also, but has no idea yet to go there. They tried, another month I think ans she will actually
go.
Good luck

Take away his diapers or training pants. Just leave them off completely. Yes, he may make a mess to test you once or twice. However, it will also get him to use the toilet. Simply don't give him other options.

Are you offering proper incentives? My kids got M&Ms every time they scored.
I think young man knows this is important to Mom and is withholding it from you in order to maintain some control in his world. Now that I've analyzed the situation, you'll have to figure out how to solve it on your own.

I would suggest trying to reason wih him and explain why it is good to use toilets. If that doesn't work, try coaxing him into doing it, like offering him a candy every time he goes to a toilet. If even that doesn't work, take away his favourite toy, or hobby from him every time he refuses to go to the toilet. If even that doesnt work......SPANK HIM!!!
