If you believe the Bible as a true account of his life, he actually said this,

"... those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me."

- Luke 19:27

What happened to turning the other cheek and loving thy neighbor? I guess doubting Jesus' divinity is the exception and murder is the just reaction.

Sounds like a swell guy, huh? Of course, you're always free to cherry pick what parts you want to agree with. How convenient it must be.

"Of course, you're always free to cherry pick what parts you want to agree with. How convenient it must be."

It's funny how you accuse people of doing the very thing you yourself just did. You seem to be a man more on a mission to disprove the Bible than to look at it objectively before forming an opinion about not only it but those who read it--something I'm seeing more often than I'd like. If you had read even the title of the section you would have known what the circumstances were. It does no man good to appear a hypocrite.

Please, people, be more intelligent and open-minded when it comes to religious discussions. I've seen both sides, religious and atheistic, blinded by bigotry, and it gets the world nowhere.

Wow it is amazing that you just cherry picked the part that you wanted to make Jesus look bad...He was telling the parable of the ten servants...the quote you so boldly attributed to Jesus was a narrative of what the master of the servants said..I would suggest not taking scripture out of context..That was not Jesus saying bring me people and kill them, that was a master saying that to his servant...why don't you read the whole Story before you put a quote up..You should not twist the word of God either.

You must be a new evangelical atheist, how about letting people know that the line you quoted was the last one of a parable.

Here is the entire parable from Luke 19: 11-27

The Parable of the Ten Minas
11While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once. 12He said: "A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. 13So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas.[a]'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.'
14"But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

15"He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

16"The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.'

17" 'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

18"The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.'

19"His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.'

20"Then another servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.'

22"His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? 23Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?'

24"Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.'

25" 'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!'

26"He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. 27But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me."

Jesus and the GOD of the OT say you can beat women with a rod till they are unconscious?

Do Christians believe JESUS is the GOD of the Old Testament?

The Trinity contends that all three parts of God are one without any separation between them otherwise it would be proven to be polytheism.

Therefore, according to Christianity the God of the Old Testament is Jesus.

If you say yes, then you cannot ever deny that he sent the commandments written in the Old Testament.

Someone can say they don’t follow them anymore…ok…. But if they ever deny that he made these commands then JESUS was not the GOD of the Old Testament.

Here is one command JESUS sent down:

"If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21: but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.” ---- Exodus 21:20-21

If a Christian denies it was ever sent down by Jesus then either Jesus is not their God or they don’t believe that the Bible is the word of God.

Whether these are still enforced or whether these were sent millenniums ago…… are not the question.

The eye opener is that Christians cannot deny that according to their faith Jesus sent this command down.

Maybe enslaved men can handle a beating but fragile women would be in pain beyond imagination.

The point being made is not that Christians are released from following the divine law….the point is that if JESUS is the One God of the OT then he said this about WOMEN.

Alright i read what you just posted and if you read above that jesus is not talking about him. he is giving a parable and the man that jesus is talking about said that not jesus.
