Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or a muscle relaxer if you have one. Use ibuprofen rather than Tylenol because it is an anti-inflammatory. A hot bath or shower, or a heat pad could also help.

You could have strained some muscles around your stomach area. Because of how long this has been going on I would recommend having this evaluated by your dr to see what they think is going on. In the mean time try to eat lightly (a lot of liquids to stay hydrated as well).
You can also try making a tea out of fresh ginger (you can find it in your local supermarket or a health food store in some cases a flea market if they have days where people who have produce sell it to the public) by boiling some water in a pan and then cut up a couple slices to put in the water. Then after a few minutes drink it.
Ginger is very good for helping the digestive system.

not only in sit ups, any physical activity like exercise, or even walking or jogging done riggorously than normal produces pain. more commonly this type of pain is more common to appear for starters, even you did sit ups before but you probably stopped for a while then tried it again may make you a starter again. it is cause by the formation of lactic acid cause by the severe exercise you made, but in regular persons doing it lactic acid is easily metabolised by the body so they dont store it in their muscles thats why they dnt fell the pain. 1 week the most can bother you but you can shorten it, my advice if you can do the sit up in 2 day time even only a few times then the other day even its really painful at first to do it but it helps because you can tolerate the pain of this lactic acid and at the same time removing them in your abdominal muscles better than takinmg any pain medication, well it temporary removes the pain but tha cause is still there..i must imagine youre really guarding your abs huh?? care to give the figures????

NO PAIN NO GAIN! I can't wait to see your stomach a week from now.. your gonna be smokin that tight stomach. haha.. but hey it's normal that your stomach is tense.. thats your muscles recovering from the work out. Good Job. I worked out for 6 years now, so I know what I am talking about... I usually wait out the pain. I don't take any medication, but sleep.

tylenol!
you have a muscle strain and since its in your core muscles there is no way to avoid using it. Sorry but it will just have to get better on its own.
