Depression can result from a number of causes. One of the common ones is suppressed anger - trying not to be angry, denying anger etc, often from early childhood. The best way to sort out depression in the long run is to enter into psychotherapy. This will, over time, help you identify and deal with the cause(s) of your depression. In the short-run, you may need medication to help you function and to make life bearable, but this isn't a long-term solution. All anti-depressant medication will flatten your mood and may make you feel rather distant from other people. It is a life-saver (literally at times) for a while, but the psychotherapy is crucial for real change.
Make sure you get a properly qualified and registered psychotherapist. In the UK, look for someone in your area on http://www.psychotherapy.org.uk or http://www.bcp.org.uk

Hello. I hope that you are not feeling too depressed today. Whilst medication properly precribed from your general practioner can help, you might like to check out alternative therapies to see if there are any that would suit you better. Everyone is different so response to medication would be different too.
Also try to look at why you are depressed. There are treatments but what is the cause. Looking behind your depression might be OK for you and from that could come an answer.
Hopefully this is helpful for you and while there is life there is still HOPE!

Life can suck mate, and u can do 1 of 2 things, you can get on with your life and get over this depression, smile and take in the good things of life or..
you can wallow in self pity, go to counselling and take some tablet prescribed by the doctor,
its your choice ( but if your depression is that bad take option 2)

I understand when you are feeling low that it can make you feel isolated. You could start sorting things out by learning to communicate properly. This could help in the future for expressing your feelings and relaying your needs.
Language is a wonderful gift. Many writers, poets and artists have used it very constructively in the past.

What kind of depression to you have? And yes, there is medication for clinical depression. I highly recommend that you see your doctor who will prescribe something if he/she believes it will help. Properly prescribed and taken, such medicines can do wonders.
